The Afghanistan Educational and Health Development Aids Organization (AEHDA) is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian, and non-governmental humanitarian organization, led by women. Initially established as an association in July 2003, AEHDA was re-registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) of Afghanistan in late 2020,

Job Descriptions:

1. Background:

AEHDA) is dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized Afghan communities through programs in healthcare, education, humanitarian assistance, and advocacy. AEHDA is particularly focused on empowering women, youth, and other vulnerable groups. 

The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing AEHDA’s initiatives in Kabul and Herat , or any other provinces ensuring projects are effectively planned, executed, and evaluated to meet organizational objectives and impact goals

2. Purpose of the Role

The Project Manager will oversee the strategic planning, execution, and completion of projects, dedicating 100% of their time to comprehensive project management tasks. This includes ensuring efficient team coordination, overseeing tasks, managing risks, and engaging stakeholders. This commitment supports streamlined execution, adherence to timelines, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure project success.

3. Key Responsibilities

3.1 Strategic Project Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with AEHDA’s objectives and strategies.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timeline in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of project milestones, adjusting plans as needed to address changing conditions.

3.2 Team Coordination and Oversight

  • Lead and coordinate the project team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assign and monitor tasks, ensuring team members have clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and team meetings to address challenges, share updates, and ensure project alignment.

3.3 Risk Management and Mitigation

  • Identify, assess, and manage potential project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Monitor and track project risks, proactively resolving issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Report on risk status and mitigation strategies to relevant AEHDA leadership.

3.4 Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and maintaining open communication.
  • Prepare and deliver regular updates and reports to AEHDA leadership, donors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure transparency in project progress, challenges, and achievements through consistent reporting.

3.5 Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation process, ensuring the project’s progress aligns with planned objectives and outcomes.
  • Analyze project data to identify areas for improvement and inform future project planning.
  • Conduct project evaluations and submit final reports, capturing lessons learned and recommendations.

4. Reporting

The Project Manager will report to the Program Director, providing updates on project progress, risks, and achievements on a [weekly/monthly] basis.

5.   PSEA Policy:

AEHDA maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA). AEHDA does not tolerate any form of sexual misconduct, and all potential candidates will undergo thorough background checks and vetting processes.

Job Requirements:

1. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical /Project Management, Public Health Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of [5 years] experience managing projects, preferably in humanitarian, development, or conflict-affected settings.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

2. Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in risk analysis, mitigation, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in [Specify Languages, e.g., Dari, Pashto, and English].
