Job Description:

As part of efforts to promote youth employment and digital entrepreneurship, Rupani Foundation, in partnership with UNWFP, is implementing an Accounting with QuickBooks training course. This initiative aims to equip youth and women with in-demand skills in computerized accounting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping using QuickBooks. The program supports the development of professional skills needed for employment, freelancing, and small business management

General Responsibilities:

The Accounting with QuickBooks Trainer will play a vital role in equipping beneficiaries with essential accounting knowledge and hands-on QuickBooks skills. This role involves delivering structured theoretical and practical training tailored for small and medium-sized business environments. The trainer will guide learners through real-world financial scenarios, helping them build confidence and competence to pursue employment or launch their own ventures.

Specific Duties:

  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions on basic and advanced accounting principles.
  • Provide hands-on training on QuickBooks software (desktop and/or online versions).
  • Develop and adapt training materials, manuals, and exercises to meet learners’ needs.
  • Demonstrate real-world financial processes, including invoicing, payroll, expense tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Assess trainees’ progress regularly and provide feedback and support.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to help beneficiaries transition into employment or self-employment.
  • Maintain an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/six monthly Plan and progress reports

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in QuickBooks or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, including hands-on use of QuickBooks.

Other Skills

  • Proficient in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) and basic office software such as Excel and Word.
  • Prior experience as a vocational trainer, instructor, or mentor is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and Afghan accounting practices.
  • Excellent teaching, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain accounting concepts to both literate and low-literacy audiences.
  • Good record-keeping, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; English is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
