Society Educational Awareness Research Consultancy and Health (SEARCH) Organization is an independent registered non-government and nonprofit civil society organization. SEARCH Organization prime motto is capacity building and services delivery to the deprived and marginalized people of the society. In 2015 a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded youth working in the development sector, got together to establish an organization, for addressing the most urgent and pressing needs of the people of Afghanistan.

• The position of WASH Engineer will support all implementation of WASH project activities as it relates to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and overall achievement in 4 districts in Kunar and Laghman provinces.
• Survey design and monitoring of water supply and sanitation projects in the mentioned provinces.
• Design the water supply pipe schemes using WATER GEMS , WATER CAD and GIS engineering software’s for design.
• Have enough information on using/designing of solar water supply projects He/she shall coordinate and supervise the community mobilization process, conduct technical feasibility assessments, surveys, supervision and other defined assignment as assigned by the top management or line manager. He/She will be responsible for developing training and awareness material of Hygiene trainings and workshops.
•  She/he will provide technical support to relevant target groups and field staff in order to develop capacities related to their roles and responsibilities through the project implementation cycle with a particular focus on sanitation and hygiene promotion.
•  The incumbent supports target groups in providing proper feedback for quality implementation of sub-projects.
• She/he will establish modalities to ensure sustainability of facilities and extended use by target communities.
• Support selection and training of social mobilization for creation of demand for hygiene practices (sanitation) through SEARCH Organization and line stakeholder PRRDs in the selected districts of Kunar province.
• Facilitate and support to timely technical assessment & monitoring of project implementation and functionality of WASH facilities and review of technical assessment and monitoring reports done by provincial PRRDs.
• Prepare monitoring reports/ mission reports of the visited project sites. 
•  Discuss appropriate and practical issues in regard to improvement of water and sanitation and hygiene promotion.
• Supervise regularly the Water Supply Projects both in terms of quality and quantity.
•  Preparing all projects progress report on monthly basis and submit to the concern units.
• Ensure that WASH projects are implemented on due time.
•  Any other duty requested by line manager.

At least Bachelor degree holder in Engineering.

 Minimum three years of relevant experience.

 Able to use engineering program such as WATER GEMS , WATER CAD and GIS

 Good coordination, interpersonal and relationship building skills

 Good communication and liaison skills with the community and all staff.

 Ability of writing and understanding Dari and Pashto languages written and spoken English is a plus.

 To be able to propose solutions to the identified problems/challenges.

 Flexibility is requested regarding the working hours and the live-in community after the working hours.
