Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world

Job Summary:

The responsibility of the expert Gynecologist /Female Medical is to treat, counsel and prescribe the female patients coming to the clinic in the flooded area. She will be providing services to the clients according to the AFGA rule and regulations.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Perform complete physical examination of patients as per their need.
• Prescribe medicines for the patients
• Advice, completion and accurate interpretation of laboratory, ultrasound and radiology exams according to patient’ needs and relevant guidelines and forms.
• Make accurate diagnosis of patient’s illnesses in consideration to history, physical exam and laboratory exam findings.
• Advice and manage treatment of patients as per diagnosis and patient’s needs.
• Ensure that the required procedures are applied for patients.
• Counseling, managing and follow up of critically ill patients according to patient health status.
• Follow up of specific standards, protocols, procedures, rules in regulations during daily works.
• Participate actively in the infection prevention of clinic and equipment
•  Perform other job-related tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure proper Data recording and reporting system.
• Preparing & submitting monthly reports to coordinator

• Graduated from recognize medical university.
• Completion of specialization in the principle of Gynecology and obstetrics field.
• Having proven 3-5 clinical experience working as clinical specialist in the field of Gynecology and Obstetric on secondary or tertiary health services level.
• High scale of communication and ability.
• Ability of speaking Dari and Pushto language is must and knowledge of English language is desirable.
• Ability of using computer office package is plus point.
• Having similar work experience is plus point.
