Organization for Research, Evaluation and Afghanistan Development (OREAD) is an Afghan owned and professionals led not-for profit organization that established in 2018 with ministry of economy of Afghanistan.  The vision of the OREAD is to provide superior quality healthcare services, education, evaluation and research to Afghan community. The OREAD working with the mission to help people of Afghanistan to build their country, delivering quality health, education and social services and promote their capacity to execute quality evaluation and research. The OREAD is to connect the Afghan professionals to make them more productive and successful. The organization of READ together with Care of Afghan Families (CAF) in partnership with Stop TB Partnership, Geneva is implementing the Integrating TB in Maternal and Child Health Services and supporting health system strengthening project in Afghanistan.

The aim of the project is to contribute to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDG) 3.2 and to contribute to strengthening the health system to achieve the global End TB Strategy and UN high-level meeting’s targets and national targets illustrated in national strategi plan by integrating TB services in maternal, reproductive, and child health services to increase access of women, mothers and children to quality TB care.

The project aims to health the national TB program to integrate TB services into matnernal, newborn, child health and family planning services in two hospitals in Kabul, and six clinics in cities of Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif, Sheberghan and Herat.

Job Descriptions:

  • To facilitate the health care workers in screening their clients and provide technical assistance to ensure that the clients are screened and they received proper TB care.
  • To facilitate the referrals of the patients from health facilities to digital X-ray sites and collect the digital X-ray films from the X-ray sites
  • To provide technical assistance to health care staffs that they upload the digital X-ray to the CAD4TB sites and collects the report
  • To assist the health care staff on proper use of TB recording and registration and patient follow up
  • To collect the sputum sample and transport it to the GeneXpert sites.
  • To plan with the TB patients the treatment they receive and follow up the patient through phone calls and SMS that they receive their treatment.
  • To facilitate the contact investigation together with health care staffs
  • To assess the health facility readiness for upgrading them to TB diagnostic centers
  • To provide logistic support such as provision of furniture and some supplies to health facilities.
  • To attend the quarterly TB review meetings together with health care staffs in the provinces and Kabul.
  • To provide TA to health care staffs to prepare the presentation for the quality TB review meetings
  • To facilitate the preparation of orders for TB to NTP for medicines and supplies.
  • To facilitate the identification and orientation/training of treatment supporters
  • To prepare the quarterly report from the health facilities
  • To communicate between the CAF/OREAD office, NTP and the health facilities
  • To represent the CAF/OREAD in the meetings in provinces and facilitate the coordination and communication at provincial health offices
  • Attend the expert panel meetings and TB task force meetings in the provinces.

Job Requirements:

The project is going to hire female health care workers graduated from nursing or midwifery education centers.

Working in the field of tuberculosis or other health service delivery area

Familiarity with Tuberculosis data registration and collection system and be able to work independently in the field

Good knowledge of Tuberculosis and other respiratory disease
