About Bridge Hope Health Organization:

Bridge Hope Health Organization (BHHO) is a non-Profit and Non-Political community-based organization established by People who use drugs (PWUD) in May 2015.

Bridge Hope Health Organization (BHHO) was founded as a network for people who use drugs. BHHO’s remit has now expanded to include key populations affected by HIV and people living with HIV. The development of the network is informed by a community consultation undertaken with over 400 people who inject drugs and other key populations in May 2015. In addition, a situation assessment was undertaken to help BHHO understand the Afghan systems for planning and delivering harm reduction, drug treatment and wider HIV prevention services. This has helped inform the focus and remit of BHHO both as a community organization representing people who inject drugs, other key populations and people living with HIV. BHHO provide harm reduction service for key affected and effected population.

BHHO’s approach long-term sustainable health, economic, social life and development of men, women empowerment who use drugs. BHHO facilitates the clarification of local concerns followed by support to planning and implementation of local heath development initiatives. We have three core principles: Basic services to reinforce livelihoods, health, human rights and harm reduction and strengthen emergency assistance.

BHHO is implementing a project in partnership with UNODC in East Region (Laghman, Nangarhar and Nuristan provinces), the main purpose of the project is to improve quality of life, health, and livelihoods of children, men, women, adolescents, girls, and families at risk or affected by drug use and other negative health and social consequences. Beside of the initially planned activities of the project, some primary prevention activities of the project will be carried out under the umbrella of the project including strong families program.

Job Descriptions:

Main task for this position 

Under the direct supervision of project manager and UNODC, BHHO is looking for two master trainers  on strong families program (SFP) or persons who received a ToT training on SFP to facilitate implementation of the program as an international evidence-based prevention intervention in Kabul and Nangarhar, to promote science-based approaches to drug use prevention and to reduce the health and social burden caused by drug use disorders. The Master Trainer is responsible for identifying training needs, planning, effectively delivering training, providing technical support in implementation of strong families, supervision of SFP sessions and subsequent reporting.

Key Responsibilities

 

Management, development, planning, implementation

 

  • Develop SFP implementation plan for the provinces under the coverage of the project.
  • Identify training needs and provide technical support for the facilitators of strong families program.
  • Provide administrative support (provision of training materials including but not limited to stationary, play items for kids, training books, leaflets, brochures…etc) for the training sessions to happen by facilitators.
  • Organize all the planned events in the provinces under the project coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with upon agreed work/implementation plan.
  • Conduct regular budget follow up – and avoid over and under spent/expenses.
  • Any other task to be assigned by line supervisor.

 

 

Monitoring, Supervision, and reporting

  • Conduct supervision visit to project implementation target sites and provide on the job training wherever needed.
  • Conduct field monitoring visits, collecting data, and contribute to the assessment of strong families program.
  • Maintaining trainee records for the target facilitators and designated areas.
  • Preparing consolidated training reports and reviewing the reports provided by the field facilitators.
  • Monitor implementation progress towards the workplan and objectives.
  • Develop activity progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and project’s final report). 
  • Ensure effective documentation of program and progress by capturing lessons learnt and good practices.

 

Representation and partnership

  • Closely coordinate support implementation of SFP in the country’s region with the relevant bodies
  • Ensure collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse range of stakeholders, including PPHD, BPHS and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in relevant meetings, and provincial and national events. 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences , psychology or other related disciplines or equivalent  University degree
  • ToT certificate on SFP program
  • Effective communication
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Previous experience of implementing SFP program
  • Understanding of drug prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services
  • Background of drug demand reduction programs is desirable.
  • Afghanistan’s official languages (Pashto or Dari) are required.
  • Basic knowledge of English preferable.
  • Ability to travel to other provinces
