Action Against Hunger/Action Contre La Faim (AAH/ACF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was created in France in 1979. AAH/ACF has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, and water and sanitation fields since 1995.  AAH/ACF improved access to health and nutrition services for the most vulnerable people, who live in remote areas without a local health system. In particular, the country team supported pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under five, who are at greater risk of malnutrition. Nutrition programmes rely on an integrated approach, addressing both primary and underlying causes, in order to have a lasting impact on nutritional status.  The country team worked at community level, in villages and at provincial level, strengthening the public health system. It also worked at national level to ensure reliable information about the nutritional situation reached the wider humanitarian community. Covid-19 prevention was integrated into all interventions and additional response activities were implemented, such as the disinfection of health facilities and public places, cash assistance, psychosocial support and the distribution of hygiene kits to affected populations.

Goal

Ensure that guesthouse is hygienic and the premises are clean. Manage the water consumption, rubbish incineration and laundry.

Objective 1: Ensure cleaning staff guest house.

• Clean, dry and dust the surfaces, furniture, stairs, railings and equipment on a daily basis
• Clean and dry the windows and doors whenever necessary
• Empty the wastepaper baskets and incinerate their contents also make sure they are covered with plastic boxes
• Sweep, mop and wash the floor considering the water consumption and use
• Clean, sanitize, scrubbing and disinfect the toilets, sinks, basins and water cleaners considering the water consumption and use
• Clean, sanitize and disinfect the water dispensers and make sure they are fill
• Ventilate the guesthouse rooms
• Check that the toilets are well stocked with toilet papers and report the sufficiency of cleaning products
• Disposing of trash from bins and containers also make sure they are covered with plastic boxes
• Vacuum and clean carpets, perform further treatment such as shampoo or stain removal as needed
• Perform track and routine inspection
• Report any leakage, wreckage and repair need to the line manager and logistics technician
• Follow health and safety regulations

Objective 2: Take care of laundry and clothes washing

• Wash, hang and iron the household linen and clothes considering the water consumption and use
• Firm the beds and change the sheets every three days
• Wash, hang, iron and change the towels every two days and hang it in bathroom
• Wash, hang and iron staff clothes, bedspread, coverlets and towels (apart from underwear)
• Firm and store all clothes in good manners and put them in their places

Objective 3: Accountability and reporting

• Perform any additional tasks and duties
• Report all faults to the supervisor
• To participate in all training relevant and as required
• To promote and comply with ACF policies on equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of expats

Skills/qualifications

• Proven experience as cleaner with local or international NGOs
• At least primary school certified or equivalent literacy certificates
• Sense of protection and vigilance when handling with chemical cleaning products
• Familiar with electrical cleaning, health and hygiene equipment
• Rigorous about following the rules of hygiene and disinfection
• Tidy, discreet and good physical and health condition
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Dynamism
• good interpersonal and communication skills with people
• Good team interaction and positive attitude
• Autonomy and flexibility
• Sense of confidentiality and dual respect
• Excellent knowledge of the intervention area
• Excellent knowledge of at least one of local languages Dari or Pashto
