Job Descriptions:

The HOD (Head of Department) will be accountable to perform the following tasks including but not limited:

  • Setting goals for the department as well as handling day to day operations to ensure Department activities run smoothly.
  • Arranging meetings with academic team (lecturers) to ensure that students related problems are specifically addressed.
  • Developing and implementing departmental plans and policies of university.
  • Developing annual operational Plan and its implementation including preparing monthly and quarterly progress report and submitting to relevant department as directed.
  • Working closely with the dean of Faculty to ensure improvement and innovation is in place for the efficient and effective operation of the department
  • Establishing proper filing and retrieval system including maintaining and updating office records and data. 
  • Identifying and assessing needs of the department and liaise with respective department for its solution on timely manner.
  • Performing academic research related activities and reports.
  • Schedule and hold regular Departmental meetings with the staff, clients and stakeholders and producing agenda for the meetings.
  • Liaising with existing staff members, supervisors in order to achieve set goals.
  • Evaluating activities and performance of newly inducted lecturer on monthly and quarterly basis and reporting to relevant departments.
  • Attending workshops and training sessions organized within the University Campus or outside the duty station.

 

Key functions as lecturer:

  • Prepare handouts and teaching materials for students using power point slides other multimedia sources.
  • Preparing lectures and presenting to students utilizing new technological sources power point multimedia etc.
  • Developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in teaching methodology.
  • Devises, writes and produce new materials including audio and visual resources
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of the Department’s programs.
  • Work in accordance with University policies and procedures to undertake assessment of students’ course work and give feedback.
  • Setting and marking examinations papers.
  • Submits monthly student progress report to the Dean of Faculty
  • Undertaking personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution's research.
  • Supervising students' research activities.
  • Motivate students regarding research and obtaining of data for research.
  • Making sure the attendance is taken every day and poor attendance is reported to the management.
  • Working closely with the other instructors on the class timing and closely coordinate with them.
  • Take part in relevant internal committees and working groups.
  •  Establishing collaborative links outside the university with (external partners) industrial, commercial and public organizations for students’ practical activities.
  • Work as a member of a team, collaborating on curriculum development and contributing to departmental meetings.
  • Supervise and follow up of student projects and placements as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education: Master Degree MS/ MBA / MPhil with Thesis in Finance.

         Experience:

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a reputed educational organization. 
  • Excellent language proficiency in Dari, Pashto, and English
  • Excellent computer, MS office skills
  • Excellent report writing skill both in English, Pashtu and Dari

Personal Competencies:

  •  Must be hard worker, honest, punctual, and regular
  •  Being able to communicate with students from various backgrounds and having high attention to students needs
  •  Having good knowledge about subject area.
  • Flexible and able to prioritize workload and meet tough deadline
  • Disciplined and punctual
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication skills
