Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) is one of the most comprehensive private, not‐for‐profit health care systems in the developing world with community health programs in large geographical areas in Central and South Asia, as well as in East Africa.

The Aga Khan Health Services, Afghanistan (AKHS, A) was established in 2003 as part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). AKHS, A provides health care services mainly on behalf of the government including the Ministry of Public Health’s of Afghanistan’s Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS). AKHS, A is unique both in scale and scope, delivering critical health services along the continuum of care, from Community Health Workers (CHWs) to ISO certified hospital facilities.

Since 2003 AKHS, A is implementing Healthcare services in Bamyan, Baghlan and Badakhshan provinces. The agency’s scope of work includes the provision of primary and secondary Healthcare, Preventive and curative medical care, Nursing and Midwifery education, Human Resources Development and Hospital Management. The current working modality and role of AKHS, A in Bamyan and Badakhshan provinces as BPHS and EPHS implementer. AKHS, A provides technical support as well as capacity building of health personnel, immunization services, nutrition trainings and the training of Community Health Nurses and Community Health Midwifery.

AKHS, A tapped into internal and other donor fundings to continue supplementary and complementary supports to the national health system. Moreover, AKHS, A scale up AKDN innovations, including, expansions of e-Health services, e-learning initiatives, and cross border arrangements. To promote healthy environment, AKHS, A is implementing net zero and greenhouse gas emission.

Job Descriptions:

To assist in carrying out daily activities of physiotherapy activities in clinic/centre

2. To assist in supervision and support CBR workers and community volunteers during HBT

program especially in physical rehabilitation of disabled people

3. To help organize physiotherapy clinics arrangement and cleaning

4. To treat those disabled and none disabled people in the area who need physiotherapy either at

home

or in the clinic under direction of physiotherapist

 

5. To help to assess the disabled people identified by CBR workers and community volunteers in the

community who may need physiotherapy

6. To express good empathy ,safety and competence in the handing of disabled and none

disabled physiotherapy related patient

7. To advice on suitable technical aids to the community volunteers and family trainers home visit

should

be conducted regularly in accordance to planned time table as directed by physiotherapist

which

should be made in consultation and coordination with CBR workers and community

volunteers

 

8. To keep clinic and its instrument clean and tidy and store all equipment in a safe way

9. To provide necessary awareness in relation to disabilities and prevention of disability for the

patient with disabilities, and their family and the community

10. To write report regarding his/her activities on regular basis and submits to the Head of physiotherapy.

11. To actively learn from courses and on job training provided by the program both practical

and theoretical knowledge in order to improve professional skills

12. Promotes general equality non discrimination with regard to ethnic political and religious background

to reticulate in workshops seminars, conference organized by the RAD program, promotes good

coordination with other SCA project all PO units.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Graduated from physiotherapy institute.
  • Work Experience: work 1 year in physiotherapy department in Hospital
  • Skill: Good communication skill written and spoken of Pashto and Dari
  • Innovative creative and honest issues and physiotherapy
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Local Language(s)
  • General locally from Bamyan.
