About French Medical Institute for Mothers & Children (FMIC)

Established in 2006 through a partnership between the Government of Afghanistan, the Government of France, La Chaîne de l’Espoir, and the Aga Khan Development Network, FMIC has become Afghanistan’s leading tertiary healthcare institution and a regional centre of excellence. Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  •       To collect household data using tablets on household composition, socio-economic status, dietary habits, child’s age, birth weight, breastfeeding practices, history of child and maternal illnesses
  •        To conduct anthropometric measurements
  •       To measure hemoglobin levels of pregnant and lactating women (PLW) and children in accordance with the study protocol.
  •         Independently conduct interviews at household/community level
  •          Visiting different households in the communities to ensure successful completion of data collection in their study areas
  •         To follow and ensure field implementation of project related SOPs/guidelines as defined in the research project
  •          To assist team leader in carrying out day-to-day work in the field
  •         To maintain confidentiality and privacy of participants' information at all times
  •         To follow research ethics and comply with all study protocols and procedures.
  •         To report any adverse events, participant concerns, or field challenges to the Team Leader immediately.
  •         To revisit households, when required, to complete missing information or verify collected data.
  •          To maintain respectful and professional communication with study participants, community members, and local stakeholders.
  •          To achieve daily data collection targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
  •          To comply with all health, safety, and security guidelines while conducting fieldwork.
  • To perform all other duties assigned to her from time-to-time by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualification and Education:

§  Bachelor or Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery or any medical field and social sciences

 

Knowledge and competencies (State skills, abilities & traits required)

§  Must have good organizational and communication skills;

§  Must be technologically literate, with proficiency in using tablet-based data collection applications.

§  Preference will be given to candidates from Logar and Nangarhar provinces
