Physiotherapist

Afghan Children and Women Support Organization (ACWSO) is a national non-profit NGO established in 2006 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. The organization is committed to empowering vulnerable communities, with focus on women, children, youth, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and returnees.

ACWSO delivers targeted interventions across a wide range of thematic areas, including health, nutrition, psychosocial support, Physiotherapy re-habitation and community awareness, as well as women’s empowerment, education, livelihoods, agriculture, environment, climate change, WASH, protection, community development, and humanitarian response. These programs aim to address urgent needs, enhance resilience, and promote sustainable development in marginalized and underserved communities throughout Afghanistan.

Physiotherapy is in health and social care settings for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiovascular diseases and disorders. For example, physiotherapists work with patients who have functional problems.

A physiotherapist’s main objective is to improve their patients’ quality of life, reduce pain and increase flexibility, strength and movement, using a range of physical therapy and rehabilitation techniques.

• Assess the patient’s physical condition to diagnose problems and plan appropriate treatment regimen.
• Create personalized treatment plans taking into account patient’s physical condition and individual needs.
• Utilize a variety of techniques, such as exercises and joint mobilization to treat patients.
• Educate patients and their families about what to expect from the recovery process and how best to cope with challenges throughout the process.
• The Physiotherapist is responsible for physiotherapy services at clinics according to given guidelines.
• she will administer physiotherapy services to clients, give referrals, and be responsible for record-keeping, follow-up, and reporting on activities.
• Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and document clinical reports.
• Adhere to all healthcare laws and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum diploma or bachelor degree in physiotherapy or rehabilitation 
• 3 – 5 years relevant experience.
• Previous experience with an NGO, INGO, or healthcare facility and had experience disability peoples.
