Job Purpose:
A Social Mobilizer in the CEP project is responsible for engaging with communities to facilitate the planning and implementation of projects, promote safe hygiene practices, and conduct hygiene awareness sessions. Social Mobilizer role also involves conducting thorough assessments of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions within communities, to identify critical gaps and inform targeted interventions. This includes engaging with community members, schools, and health care facilities to deliver hygiene and sanitation awareness sessions that promote safe practices such as handwashing, proper waste disposal, and management. The social mobilizer will carry his/her duties align with the Afghanistan Development National Organization’s mission to improve livelihoods, health, education, and social well-being in Afghanistan.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Social Mobilizer will mobilize community for the CEP program activities, plan and conduct hygiene promotion visits, focus group discussions and mass awareness campaigns to promote good hygiene practices within targeted communities.
- Mobilize community for the CEP program activities, organize distribution of Soap, Aqua tab Jerry Canes, hygiene kits and other WASH supplies to promote good hygiene practices within targeted communities.
- Conduct hygiene awareness sessions and promote key hygiene practices such as handwashing with soap, safe water handling, and proper sanitation at the reception centre.
- Promote safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH facilities and services, and improved hygiene behaviours in communities, school and health care facilities.
- Resolving any conflict arising during the implementation and suggesting constructive feedback.
- Conduct rapid WASH assessments in AWD, measles and flood-affected areas to identify urgent needs and prevention efforts as needed.
- Report on community engagement, participation levels, and WASH and behaviour change outcomes.
- Support the M&E Officer during field visits, data collection, and community feedback sessions.
- Regularly collect and submit field data, activity reports, and success stories to the Data Manager.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting using standardized tools and formats.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager.

- Afghanistan Development National Organization shall track and get information on involvement in SEA or corruption about the candidates who apply to Afghanistan Development National Organization and Afghanistan Development National Organization adopts zero tolerance policy on SEA and corruptions.
- As a humanitarian agency, Afghanistan Development National Organization strictly adheres to humanitarian Data Sharing Protocol (DSP) applied in Afghanistan. The sharing of data of any type of anyone associated to Afghanistan Development National Organization (Beneficiary detail, survey, assessment, reports, internal matters, confidential documents, etc. is prohibited and will require senior management approval to make sure the sharing is in line with Do NO HARM principles, DSP and Afghanistan Development National Organization data sharing policy

Media participation
- No Afghanistan Development National Organization staff can participate in any media talks, interviews, debates, information sharing in social media or in any other media. No staff can represent any Afghanistan Development National Organization activities at any media platforms without Afghanistan Development National Organization management permission.
