Job Description

To support the Deputy Accounting Reconciliation in performing all account reconciliations activities and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely reconciliation of the Bank's financial records and reports.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform reconciliations of all General Ledger (GL) and Profit & Loss (P&L) accounts with the General Trial Balance.
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of documents required by Internal Audit, External Audit, and the Supervision Team of Da Afghanistan Bank.
  • Serve as the focal point for Internal Audit, External Audit, and Da Afghanistan Bank's Supervision Team in the absence of the Deputy Head of Account Reconciliation.
  • Assist in preparing account reconciliation reports and related financial reconciliations.
  • Reconcile inter-office accounts between the Head Office and the Bank's city and provincial branches.
  • Identify, investigate, and follow up on reconciliation discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of all reconciliation activities in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line Manager.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, banking and finance and master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience in Finance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English is required.
