Job Description

To assist the General Manager of Accounting in managing and supervising the Bank's accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager of Accounting in overseeing the Bank's accounting and financial activities.
  • Analyze, review, and monitor the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in coordination with the relevant departments.
  • Coordinate with the Deputy Head of Account Reconciliation regarding reconciliation processes and related accounting matters.
  • Review and control expense voucher entries and approve other routine accounting transactions in the system in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Supervise and review the activities of the Accounts Executive Section and Finance Assistant.
  • Review daily accounting transactions to ensure compliance with the approved Chart of Accounts and budget.
  • Review and monitor all fixed asset transactions in accordance with the Bank's Fixed Assets Policy and ensure the preparation and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual Fixed Asset Registers.
  • Review, monitor, and verify the reports and activities of the Management Information System (MIS) staff related to the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
  • Review and monitor payroll, employee benefits, and related accounting activities on a continuous basis.
  • Prepare and maintain the Right-of-Use of Assets schedule and ensure that related accounting transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Record External Auditors' Adjusting Entries in the accounting system as approved.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager of Accounting or senior management in accordance with the Bank's policies and operational requirements.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, banking and finance and master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance, including regulatory reporting. 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English is required.
