The Reintegration Officer is responsible for facilitating the social and economic reintegration of graduates from vocational skills training programs by supporting their transition into employment, self-employment, or income-generating activities. The officer will establish partnerships with employers, private sector actors, financial institutions, and community stakeholders to improve sustainable livelihood opportunities for graduates within the assigned province.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and map local employers, industries, workshops, and businesses whose labor demands match graduates' vocational skills (e.g., tailoring, carpentry, plumbing, mechanics, electrical work, ICT, beauty services, etc.).
· Build and maintain partnerships with private sector companies, business associations, chambers of commerce, and employers.
· Organize job matching activities, recruitment events, and employer meetings.
· Assist graduates in preparing professional CVs, job applications, motivation letters, and interview techniques.
· Support graduates in securing internships, apprenticeships, and full-time employment opportunities.
· Assess market demand and identify viable self-employment opportunities.
· Support graduates in developing simple business plans.
· Connect graduates with microfinance institutions, savings groups, revolving funds, or other financial service providers.
· Facilitate access to tools, equipment suppliers, raw materials, and business development services.
· Provide basic business coaching and mentoring during business startup.
· Promote graduates' vocational skills and products within local markets.
· Facilitate business-to-business (B2B) linkages between graduates and local enterprises.
· Identify potential buyers, suppliers, and service providers.
· Organize market exposure events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities whenever feasible.
· Conduct regular follow-up visits and phone calls with employed and self-employed graduates.
· Monitor employment retention, business performance, income generation, and reintegration progress.
· Identify challenges affecting sustainability and recommend appropriate interventions.
· Coordinate closely with vocational training centers, local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and government departments.
· Participate in provincial coordination meetings related to employment and livelihoods.
· Represent WADAN in meetings related to graduate employment and reintegration when assigned.
· Ensure gender-sensitive programming in all reintegration activities.
· Promote safe and equal employment opportunities for female graduates.
· Identify and address barriers preventing women and vulnerable groups from accessing employment or business opportunities.
· Ensure confidentiality and protection of client information.
· Prepare client documentation, attendance sheets, transportation and refreshment distribution lists, and other project records.
· Maintain employment tracking databases.
· Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
· Document success stories, lessons learned, and case studies.
· Support project monitoring, evaluations, surveys, and donor visits.
· Participate in training sessions organized by WADAN.
· Continuously update knowledge of labor market trends and livelihood opportunities.
· Share good practices and lessons learned with project staff.
· Employer mapping completed and updated regularly.
