Afghanistan Development & Assistance Organization (ADAO) is a national NGO registered under the Ministry of Economy which is established 17 years ago (founded in 2006) by a group of young and professional Afghans to work on the development of Agriculture, sustainable livelihoods opportunities to support most vulnerable communities both urban and rural areas consequently will have access to better education, primary health care, good governance, and eventually improved sustainable community development in Afghanistan.

Job Description

The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely financial reporting, and compliance with internal financial policies and donor regulations. She supports budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and financial documentation to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective financial management of projects.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  2. At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping, preferably in an NGO environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  4. Experience in managing donor-funded projects and understanding donor compliance requirements.
  5. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  6. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  9. Strong integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards in handling financial data.
