Job Description

1. Position Summary

The Livelihood Trainer is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering vocational and livelihood skills training to women participating in the Women Empowerment Hub (WEH) Project. The position aims to enhance women's economic opportunities, self-reliance, and income generation capacities through quality training, mentoring, and practical skills development.

2. Duties and Responsibilities:-

Training Delivery

  • Conduct vocational and livelihood skills training sessions according to the approved curriculum and training plans.
  • Deliver both theoretical and practical training to project beneficiaries.
  • Ensure training sessions are participatory, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of women participants.
  • Develop weekly and monthly training schedules.
  • Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and practical exercises.
  • Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and materials related to the vocational skill being taught. 

Beneficiary Support and Mentoring

  • Provide coaching and mentoring support to trainees throughout the training period.
  • Encourage participants to develop business ideas and income-generating activities.
  • Identify trainees requiring additional support and provide appropriate guidance.
  • Promote women's confidence, leadership, and entrepreneurship skills.

Monitoring and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and trainee performance assessments.
  • Conduct pre-tests and post-tests to measure learning outcomes.
  • Monitor trainees’ progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and end-of-training reports.
  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure training activities meet OHA and UN Women standards and requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of training delivery and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain training equipment and materials in good condition.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, protection, and gender-sensitive programming principles.

Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinate closely with the Livelihood Specialist and Project Manager.
  • Participate in project meetings, trainings, and workshops as required.
  • Collaborate with community leaders, stakeholders, and relevant authorities when needed.
  • Support project monitoring visits and donor visits. 

Compliance and Safeguarding

  • Adhere to OHA policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policy, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and safeguarding standards.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
  • Immediately report any safeguarding concerns through established reporting mechanisms.

 

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Economics, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Vocational Education, or a related field.
  • Diploma or certification in a relevant vocational trade will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in vocational skills training, livelihood programming, or women empowerment projects.
  • Previous experience with NGOs, UN agencies, or donor-funded projects is preferred.
  • Experience working with women and vulnerable groups in Afghanistan is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Strong training facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of livelihood development, entrepreneurship, and income-generating activities.
  • Ability to prepare training materials, reports, and documentation.
  • Good understanding of adult learning methodologies.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Languages

  • Fluency in Pashto is required.
  • Good knowledge of Dari is preferred.
  • Basic English communication skills are desirable.
