The Field Enumerators will be responsible for carrying out structured data collection activities at assigned field sites within their respective regions. Under the direct supervision of the SSEOA MEAL Manager and field supervisors, enumerators will conduct interviews, facilitate focus group discussions, administer observation tools, and support the photo voice protocol, ensuring data quality, ethical compliance, and adherence to safeguarding standards throughout the field phase. The assignment is strictly short-term, spanning approximately six (6) field days.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Field Implementation
· Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with school headteachers, teachers, Local Education Authority (LEA) officials, and community representatives, following approved interview guides.
· Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with students, teachers, and community members in assigned schools and communities.
· Administer classroom observation tools during scheduled lesson observation sessions.
· Support the photovoice protocol, including distribution of consent forms, facilitation of photography sessions, and collection of visual narratives from participants.
· Record all responses accurately and completely in designated data collection tools (paper-based and/or digital as instructed).
Data Quality and Integrity
· Review completed forms daily for completeness, legibility, and accuracy before submission.
· Promptly identify and flag any data inconsistencies, incomplete entries, or collection challenges to the field supervisor.
· Ensure all collected data is securely stored and submitted to the MEAL team as per the agreed schedule.
· Never alter, fabricate, or omit collected data; maintain full integrity of the data collection process.
Stakeholder Engagement and Community Coordination
· Obtain informed verbal and/or written consent from all respondents prior to data collection, clearly explaining the purpose of the evaluation.
· Ensure inclusive engagement, particularly with women, girls, children with disabilities (CWDs), and marginalized groups.
· Maintain respectful, professional, and culturally appropriate conduct at all times during field activities.
· Coordinate logistics with school principals, community leaders, and local authorities as directed by the field supervisor.
Safeguarding and Ethics
· Strictly adhere to organizational Child Safeguarding Policies and PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards.
· Ensure confidentiality of all respondent information, including names, personal details, and interview content.
· Immediately report any safeguarding concerns, misconduct, or ethical violations to the MEAL Manager.
· Protect the identity of vulnerable respondents, including children and women, in all data records.

· Submit completed data collection instruments and field notes to the field supervisor at the end of each working day.
· Participate in daily briefings and debriefings as scheduled by the field supervisor.
· Provide timely verbal updates on field progress, access challenges, and any emergent issues.
