Non-profit making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organization is run by a Supervisory Board of honorary members under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its work is funded by private donations and public grants. Welthungerhilfe is working since the 1980’s continuously in Afghanistan and opened the first offices in 1992. Since this time Welthungerhilfe has implemented some 165 projects in Afghanistan. Main fields of Welthungerhilfe intervention in Afghanistan are emergency relief, food and nutrition security, rural and regional development and water and sanitation.

Job Description

I. Objectives, duties, areas of responsibility

1. Objectives of the position
The aim of the position is to support the field coordinators and/or technical experts in the implementation of the project/programme.

2. Duties and area of responsibility

2.1 Duties without own area of responsibility
· Act as the point of contact between the beneficiary group and the technical team, thereby gathering the needs expressed by the former

· Support the design of activities for the different sectors in order to mobilize the communities

· Carry out activities geared at motivating and sensitising the beneficiaries to the project activities

· Organization (including close follow-up) of the different groups targeted by the project

· Prepare regular communication about the project activities for the media, the population and partners

· Assist the technical team in planning of trainings for the beneficiaries

· Carry out surveys in the implementing area and collect data according to the needs of the project

2.2 Duties without own area of responsibility

· Support the elaboration of visibility measures and the accompanying communication channels
· Support the technical team in their project-related work and the reporting duties in particular

2.3 Specific Activities and duties of the position

  1. Assisting Field Project Officer on coordination of the project plan and implementation with sector at provincial and district level.
  2. Facilitate conduct of assessment to identify the potential villages for project implemenation.
  3. Facilitate conduct of household assessment to identify the most eligible households for project activities.
  4. Establishment of healthy relationship and working arrangements with community leaders to ensure a transparent and correct communication between WHH and communities.
  5. Facilitate community mobilization for project implementation at village level.
  6. Assist with lessons learnt/best practices, and sound contributions to WHH knowledge networks and communities of practice.
  7. conduct assessment of project participants, village, community and value chains.
  8. facilitate for smooth project implementation.
  9. coordinate with MEAL and relevant departments on program relateds issues.
  10. Take part in distribuitons and support project manager on routine basis.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor degree in Social Sience, agriculture, vetrinary, economy or related disipline
  2. Fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto, Uzbiki would be an advantage) and fair undrestanding English.
  3. Having at least three years experience in field coordination, community mobilization and engagement with (I)NGOs
  4. excellent communicator, good networking and problem-solving skills.
  5. experience in livelihoods, agriculture, livestock, business development or related fields will be prefered .
  6. basic computer skill
  7. 7.familiarity with the context and cultural sensitivty
  8. Priority will be given to local candidates, like for Samangan candidates who are the residents of Dara-e-Suf Bala and Dara-e-Suf Payin districts.
