Tdh has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 and carry out projects related to Child Protection, Mother and Child health and Livelihood Programs in Kabul, Balkh, Kunar and Nangarhar provinces.
Job Description
Job Summary :
The midwife will offer the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health services including Antenatal care, Postnata care, Family planning and delivery services to pregnant and lactating women attending the health facility. In addition she will be responsible to provide health education on reproductive health to pregnant and lactating women during their to health facility.
Main responsibilities:

The midwife will provide the Antenatal care services to pregnant and lactating women attending the health facility in accordance with MopH guidelines.

The midwife will provide the Postnatal care services to pregnant and lactating women attending the health facility.

She will provide the health education to pregnant and lactating women on reproductive health and maternal nutrition

To provide the family planning services to women

To carry out the normal delivery in health facility and refer the complicated delivery cases to nearby health facility

To advise micro-nutrient and folic acid to childbearing age women attending the health facility

To set the target of ANC, PNC, Family planning and delivery of the health facility considering the catchment area population of the health facility.

To maintain the registration of ANC, PNC, FP and delivery in their registers accordingly.
Job Requirements
Education :
Graduated from a recognized midwifery institute; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience / Skills :
-
Minimum of three years of professional experience as a midwife in recognized health facilities.

Prior experience working with national or international NGOs is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to assess and manage Antenatal Care (ANC) and Postnatal Care (PNC).
-
Competent in conducting clean and safe normal deliveries.

Skilled in monitoring labor using a partograph.

Ability to provide comprehensive maternal care, including antenatal and postnatal services, safe delivery (normal vaginal delivery), and early identification and referral of complications.
Languages:
Strong and effective oral and written communication skills in local languages.
