Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY :

1. Programme Planning, Implementation & Monitoring
•    Supervise, monitor, and support effective implementation of all child protection activities at field level.
•    Develop weekly, monthly, and long‑term implementation plans in alignment with the annual work plan and in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
•    Work across sectors to plan integrated activities, trainings, and contribute to service mapping and development of referral pathways.
•    Facilitate ongoing monitoring and assessment of activities to ensure timely identification and response to child protection concerns, including issues raised through the CFM (Complaints and Feedback Mechanism).
•    Collect accurate weekly and monthly activity data to support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
•    Support MEAL teams during surveys, monitoring visits, and contribute to post‑distribution monitoring where relevant.
•    Participate in project evaluations and assessments, assist in analysing results, and provide inputs for improving programme quality and impact.
•    Identify lessons learned and best practices from implementation to support organizational learning and programme improvement.

2. Capacity Building, Training & Community Engagement
•    Design and deliver orientations and trainings for staff, community volunteers, and CBCPN members based on identified needs.
•    Provide on‑the‑job coaching for volunteers on child protection themes, including safe identification and referrals, case management basics, and cash for protection referral criteria.
•    Support planning and organizing of all training and awareness session materials.
•    Facilitate MHPSS and Psychological First Aid (PFA) trainings for staff and beneficiaries, ensuring alignment with SCI standards.
•    Establish and maintain strong relationships with communities and stakeholders to encourage active participation and promote community ownership of child protection activities.

3. Coordination & Representation
•    Attend inter‑agency coordination meetings, workshops, and conferences as assigned by the Line Manager.
•    Establishing and maintaining good relationship with stakeholders and community and creating an environment that community feel empowered to participate and ownership over the project.
•    Contribute to service mapping and maintain functional referral pathways with internal and external partners.

4. Reporting, Documentation & Compliance
•    Maintain an organized and confidential filing system for storing project documentation in line with SCI standards and data protection requirements.
•    Compile and submit timely and accurate reports on trainings, awareness sessions, and other field activities.
•    Develop high‑quality case studies capturing successes, challenges, lessons learned, and key project experiences.
•    Ensure full adherence to Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy, and immediately report any safeguarding concerns to the Child Safeguarding Focal Point.
•    Ensure all activities comply with SCI policies, donor requirements, and humanitarian principles.

5. Other Responsibilities
•    Perform any other tasks related to child protection programming as assigned by the Line Manager.

Additional job responsibilities
•    Supporting other project staff for the implementation of program activities

In the event of a significant humanitarian emergency, the post-holder will be expected to work outside their normal job description; vary their working hours; and occasionally work from a different location should the need arise.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

•    Holds Bachelor degree in psychology, social work or social science faculty.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

•    Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Child Protection, in roles such as CP Officer, Senior CP Officer, CP Coordinator, CP Team Leader, or Case Management Supervisor, including at least 1 year of MHPSS experience within Child Protection programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
•    Strong understanding of CPMS, humanitarian principles, and child safeguarding.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Excellent communication skills (understanding, speaking and writing) of Pashto/Dari/English languages.
•    Knowledge and skills of working with communities.
•    Ability to travel to districts and other province when it is required.
•    Committed to the aims and principles of Save the Children, including adherence to the child protection policy.
•    Detail-oriented skills
•    Knowledge of Computer (Ms. Office and internet)
•    Accuracy with responsibilities
