Women Activities & Social Service Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 in Afghanistan as a non-governmental organization, committed to seeking ways for women's empowerment in Afghanistan. WASSA aims to promote women's equal participation in socio-economic sectors of the country. WASSA works directly with communities to bring change in the social attitude of the community regarding women.

Job Description
1. Background
WASSA invites qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals to contribute voluntarily to its humanitarian and development work. This opportunity is designed for professionals who are passionate about serving communities and supporting humanitarian causes in Afghanistan.
Volunteers will support WASSA’s mission in areas such as:
- Economic Empowerment
- Health & Nutrition
- Livelihoods & Economic Development
- Child Protection & Education
- Emergency & Humanitarian Response
- Organizational Support Functions
2. Purpose of Volunteership
The purpose of this initiative is to:
- Engage skilled individuals in humanitarian action
- Strengthen WASSA’s operational and programmatic capacity
- Promote a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility
- Support delivery of services to vulnerable communities
3. Areas of Engagement
A. Programs / Projects
Volunteers may contribute to:
- Technical support in project implementation
- Assessments, reporting, and documentation
- Training, mentoring, and capacity sharing
- Monitoring & evaluation activities
- Community outreach and engagement
B. Operations
Volunteers may support:
- HR, Administration, and Office Management
- Finance documentation and compliance support
- Logistics & Procurement processes
- ICT and technical troubleshooting
- Coordination and internal systems strengthening
4. Key Responsibilities
Depending on expertise and assignment, volunteers will:
- Provide technical support to teams
- Assist in development of reports, proposals, and tools
- Support field activities, assessments, and coordination
- Share knowledge and mentor staff where applicable
- Contribute to improving systems and processes
- Maintain proper documentation and communication
5. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold relevant academic qualifications
- Have prior professional experience in relevant fields
- Demonstrate commitment to humanitarian principles
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be proficient in English and local languages
- Possess good computer skills

6. Selection Process
Volunteers will be selected based on:
- Review of CV and experience
- Interview and/or technical discussion
- Alignment with organizational needs
WASSA will engage volunteers on a case-by-case basis depending on program requirements.
7. Volunteering Conditions
- This is a fully voluntary position (unpaid)
- No compensation, allowances, or benefits are provided
- No coverage for accommodation, transportation, or insurance
- Working schedule will be agreed based on assignment needs
- Volunteers may be engaged for short-term or long-term support
8. Supervision & Reporting
- Volunteers will be assigned a supervisor within the relevant department
- Expected to coordinate regularly and report on assigned tasks
- May be involved in team meetings and organizational activities
9. Professional Conduct
Volunteers are required to:
- Follow WASSA policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Respect diversity, gender equality, and humanitarian principles
- Demonstrate accountability and integrity
10. Relationship with Internship Program
Volunteers are subject to general organizational guidelines similar to interns; however:
- Capacity-building provisions (training focus) do not apply
- Engagement is based on experience and contribution, not learning objectives
11. Termination of Engagement
Volunteership may be discontinued due to:
- Misconduct or violation of organizational policies
- Poor performance or non-commitment
- Breach of confidentiality
- Organizational needs and priorities
