About ANHDO
Afghanistan National Horticulture Development Organization (ANHDO) is a national non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy and established in April 2009. The development of ANHDO is part of the European Union (EU) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) long term strategy for the development of horticulture sector in Afghanistan. Since then, ANHDO has developed into an important institution for horticulture development by comparing among other skilled and experienced Afghan professional organizations in the horticulture sector. ANHDO is operating in close coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) based on separate Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Hence, ANHDO is a corner stone of the long-term strategy for the development of the horticulture sector in Afghanistan.
ANHDO is currently looking for a Agri Master Trainer for its project "Promoting resilient and equitable recovery of agriculture and livelihoods in Afghan communities (PREVALE), Afghanistan”, which is funded by (FCDO).
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Agriculture Master Trainer will lead the design and delivery of training programs for consortium partner agriculture specialist under the PREVALE II project. The role focuses on building capacity in climate-resilient agriculture, orchard management, crop diversification, and sustainable farming practices. The Master Trainer will ensure that training activities are practical, evidence-based, and aligned with community needs identified through PRA and value chain assessments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Training Design & Delivery
- Develop training curricula and manuals on cereals, pulses, vegetables, orchards (apple, apricot, walnut, almond, pistachio, grapes, saffron), agroforestry or other strategic high value crops.
- Provide hands-on training in crop production, orchard establishment, pest/disease management, and soil fertility practices.
- Deliver specialized training on climate-smart agriculture, water-efficient irrigation, and integrated pest management.
- Conduct training-of-trainers (ToT) sessions for consortium partners agriculture specialists, if needed to farmers in 6 targeted provinces.
3. Capacity Building & Community Engagement
- Organize workshops, field demonstrations, and exposure visits for farmers.
- Strengthen farmer groups, cooperatives, and community-based organizations.
- Promote gender-sensitive training approaches to include women and youth.
- Support MSME specialist in development agri-processing, packaging, and value addition.
4. Technical Support & Advisory Services
- Provide ongoing technical advice to agriculture specialists.
- Support adoption of certified seeds, improved varieties, and modern farming practices.
- Train Promoting crop rotation, intercropping, and soil conservation techniques.
- Train to Facilitating linkages between farmers and input/service providers.
5. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
- Track training outcomes, adoption rates, and productivity improvements.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, safeguarding standards, and gender inclusion principles.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual reports on training activities.
Work Conditions
- Based in Kabul with frequent travel to project sites.
- Standard working hours with flexibility during training, workshops, or field missions.

Job Requirements
- BSc or Master degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related fields.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in agricultural training, extension, or rural development.
- Strong knowledge of crop production, orchard management, and climate-resilient practices
- Experience in and Agriculture Value Chain.
- Training design, facilitation, and farmer capacity building.
- Excellent planning, communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training material development.
- Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto and English
