Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

Inventory Assistant manages and organizes company stock, tracking incoming and outgoing goods to maintain accurate records. Key duties include conducting regular inventory counts, inspecting shipments for accuracy, updating databases, and preparing items for dispatch. This role ensures stock levels are optimal and assists with supply chain operations.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Tracking: Maintain precise stock records, update inventory databases (using barcode systems or software), and manage stock filing systems.
  • Stock Audits: Conduct daily, weekly, or periodic physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile with records.
  • Receiving & Shipping: Inspect incoming deliveries for quality and quantity, and assemble, pack, and label orders for shipment.
  • Organization: Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organize stock areas for efficient retrieval.
  • Reporting: Assist management with reports, analyze stock shortages, and monitor inventory levels.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory management is often preferred.

Other skills required:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel) and, often, Inventory Management Software.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to organize large volumes of items.
  • Physical Stamina: The capability to lift, move, and organize inventory, often requiring standing for long periods.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, purchasing teams, and warehouse staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict safety protocols.
  • Often, knowledge of inventory systems like SAP or similar ERP tools.
