About NSIA:

The National Statistics and Information Authority operates across the country as an independent government institution. It works in the areas of collecting and scientifically recording data, coordinating statistical activities, managing geographic information, and registering population records.

The Authority was established in 1351 (Hijri Shamsi) under the name Central Statistics Organization as an independent body within the government. Today, it has three deputy offices: the Deputy for Statistics, the Deputy for Civil Registration, and the Deputy for Finance and Administration. It also includes one General Directorate, 30 directorates at the central level, one legal advisory office, provincial statistics and information offices in all 34 provinces, and civil registration management offices in all districts of the country. Because of this wide structure, it is considered one of the largest government institutions in the country.

The Deputy for Statistics works on developing, strengthening, and standardizing statistical systems. It designs and conducts surveys to collect, analyze, evaluate, and publish economic and social data.

The Deputy for Civil Registration is responsible for issuing national ID cards, both paper and electronic, and providing other civil registration services to citizens.

The Deputy for Finance and Administration manages human resources, administrative and service affairs, finance and procurement, coordination of provincial affairs, and information technology. It also supports other technical and professional departments in achieving the organization’s goals.

The General Directorate of Geographic Information manages geographic information technology in the country. It collects and stores data and prepares aerial images at the national level using advanced technologies such as remote sensing and geographic information systems.

Fill out electronic questionnaires correctly, including information about the area, household listing, and selected sample households. Also prepare a complete list of all residential and non-residential units in the assigned area.

The National Statistics and Information Authority will carry out household listing and a census of children under five years old in Helmand Province.

For this work in Helmand, the Authority is hiring surveyors who meet the required conditions. If selected, their contract will be signed with the Afghan Youth Services Organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Purpose:To correctly fill out electronic questionnaires, including information about the area, household listing, and selected sample households. Also to prepare a complete list of all residential and non-residential units in the assigned area.

For this work in Helmand, the Authority is hiring surveyors who meet the required conditions. If selected, their work contract will be signed with the Afghan Youth Services Organization.

Job Overview: Surveyors are responsible for conducting household interviews and collecting high-quality data for the household listing and the census of children under five years old in Helmand Province. Each survey team will have two people. Surveyors will receive formal training before starting fieldwork and are expected to work full-time for one month.

Applicants must submit their application for the household listing and under-five child census survey. It is mandatory that the applicant currently lives in Helmand Province and is ready to work there.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Actively participate in training courses to learn survey methods.
  2. Take part in survey operations and perform duties as a surveyor.
  3. Before going to the field, check that the tablet and all necessary materials are complete and working properly.
  4. Conduct surveys according to the instructions and guidelines in the surveyor manual.
  5. Number building doors and make a complete list of all residential and non-residential units accurately, without missing or adding extra units.
  6. Visit all assigned sample households and complete interviews fully and accurately.
  7. Submit regular reports of field activities to the assigned supervisor.
  8. Ensure that all questionnaires from the team are fully uploaded to the central server.

Job Requirements:

  1. Work Duration and Benefits: Full-time for one month; daily wage and travel expenses will be provided according to the National Statistics and Information Authority’s policy.
  2. When applying, select the district where you currently live.
  3. A minimum of a School Degree is required. Candidates with higher education will be given priority.
  4. Must be committed to full-time work during the survey period and familiar with the area’s geography and social conditions; may need to work extra hours if required.
  5. Must be able to travel to all districts of Helmand Province, including remote areas.
  6. Must have full physical fitness and be prepared to perform assigned tasks.
  7. Must have skills in using computers, smartphones, and tablets.
  8. Must follow the National Statistics and Information Authority’s data security rules and comply with the policies and principles of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Priority for Experienced and Skilled Candidates:
  • Applicants with relevant work experience and technical skills will be given priority.
  • Applicants must be fully fluent in both official languages (Pashto and Dari).
