About Gate of Hope Afghanistan Organization:

Gate of Hope Afghanistan Organization (GOH-A) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2022 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan under the supervision of Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved people throughout the country.

GOH-A responds to the needs of deprived and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scarce resources in a well-organized, efficient, effective, transparent, and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, health services, and infrastructure, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.

GOH-A has an active presence in most parts of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces, as to transform itself into a leading and developed organization that will deliver to and support large number of people who have been affected by the long-protracted and sudden on-set emergencies and regardless of the hardest circumstances that exist in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Gate of Hope Afghanistan Organization (GOH-A) will be implementing an emergency response project under the name of Safe Haven Initiative (SHI), aiming to improve protection, shelter conditions, psychosocial wellbeing, and cash assistance for women and vulnerable populations. GOH-A seeks motivated Community Mobilizers to support effective community engagement, awareness, and participation in project activities at the community level with full consideration of humanitarian and ethical standards.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular community outreach and awareness sessions on project objectives and available services
  • Mobilize community members, especially women and vulnerable groups, to participate in Shelter Rehabilitation, Cash Assistance, and MHPSS activities
  • Support identification and engagement of project beneficiaries in coordination with the program team
  • Assist during distributions, community meetings, and project sessions
  • Provide accurate information to beneficiaries regarding schedules, services, and referral pathways
  • Coordinate closely with social workers, MHPSS counselors, and other project staff
  • Collect and report community feedback, concerns, and emerging needs
  • Support data collection and monitoring activities as requested
  • Promote accountability to affected populations and inform communities about complaint and feedback mechanisms
  • Ensure respectful, culturally appropriate, and non-discriminatory engagement at all times
  • Adhere strictly to safeguarding, PSEA, and UN policies

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum high school graduate (Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, or related field is an asset)

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in community mobilization, outreach, or humanitarian programming
  • Experience working with women, IDPs, or vulnerable communities is highly desirable
  • Previous NGO or humanitarian experience is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage respectfully with diverse community members
  • Basic understanding of humanitarian principles and accountability
  • Ability to work in challenging field environments
  • Commitment to gender equality and protection principles

Language & IT Skills

  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto (mandatory)
  • Local language skills (Uzbeki/Turkmeni) are an asset
  • Basic literacy and reporting ability
  • Basic mobile or computer skills are desirable
