Afghanaid is a British humanitarian and development organisation. For forty years, our dedicated personnel have worked with millions of families in some of the poorest and most remote communities in Afghanistan. We build basic services, improve livelihoods, strengthen the rights of women and children, help communities protect against natural disasters and adapt to climate change, and respond to humanitarian emergencies. We are headquartered in Kabul, and operate 20 provincial and district offices across Afghanistan, as well as a Marketing and Fundraising office in London. We employ around 500 personnel, 97% of whom are Afghans.
Job Purpose and Role:
Reporting to the UK Head of Communications and Giving, you will be at the forefront of demonstrating to various audiences, including the public, donors and other stakeholders, how Afghanaid is changing lives in Afghanistan. You will take the lead on content creation, identifying and pursuing first engagement opportunities, and the retention and growth of our individual giving supporter base. You will produce content for our fundraising communications; manage our social media channels; engage with existing, new and potential supporters online; and maximise opportunities for growth. You will also take support with the creation of materials for institutional donors and implementing partners, ensuring adherence to Afghanaid’s brand identity. You will be given close support and guidance to undertake the tasks detailed below.

The position holder should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in communications or another relevant field.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 year’s proven experience in relevant field, including Strong experience in using social media platforms and experience in photography for social media as well as filming short-form video content, ideally with an international organisation.
