Acted Afghanistan:

Acted is working in 20 provinces in Afghanistan around the country. These provinces are affected by natural and man-made disasters. Acted provides relief and emergency assistance to vulnerable populations affected by displacements, conflicts, or natural disasters, in the fields of agriculture, shelter, wash, and food security.

Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

The project assistant will be responsible for the implementation and follow up of the all-projects activities in the respected province. The project assistant contributes to effective and timely completion of activities, delivery of quality outputs and achievement of outcomes with maximum impact for beneficiaries. He/She she reports directly to the Project Manager or Project Officer and works closely with the field team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the PM and Project Officer/s in development of an implementation plan for the respective province, and development of individual plan for him/herself.
  • Coordinate and implement day to day activities with stakeholders in field ensuring that technical quality and standards are considered and respected during project(s) implementation.
  • Ensure activities are on time, target and budget, using effective M&E systems to reach desired impacts.
  • Assist the Project Manager to trouble-shoot any unforeseen challenges during the project implementation.
  • Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Project Manager and other team members.
  • Support the implementation process, by holding community mobilization meetings, selection of beneficiaries under the project, coordination with relevant stakeholders and support in record keeping and development of progress reports.
  • Support in facilitation of joint monitoring visits by stakeholders and project team. Lead the preparation and facilitation for such visits.
  • Maintain a proper record of the supporting documents for the FTU Project.
  • Support the external suppliers CSOs contracted under the project in implementation of the work implemented by them, ensuring quality of work and timeliness of implementation.
  • Draft routine correspondences/documents related to Project and maintain project needed items including stationary.
  • Actively participate in all project’s relevant meetings inside and outside ACTED and provide information on project progress, challenges and results achieved.
  • Work closely with the Field staff and the project team to document and share case studies, success stories and field visit reports, data collection and surveys as and when required.
  • Support the process of updating data in the database developed for the project activities, support quarterly data collection and entry processes.
  • Provide support to partners in project implementation and ensure timely and qualitative implementation of projects by partners in line with ACTED and donor requirements.
  • Refer partners to relevant ACTED staff to support and/or train them in FLATS procedures where relevant;
  • Participate in review meetings with partners, with particular attention given to the relationship aspects of partnership collaboration and ensure that any issues or disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support the PM and PC in monitoring the activities to ensuring quality of work and timelines of activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, project management, social sciences, or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office suite and project management tools.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.
