Job Descriptions:

Position Summary

The Business Development and Cooperative Trainer will play a key role in building the capacity of carpet weavers and cooperative linkage to manage their businesses and cooperatives effectively. The trainer will collaborate with project staff, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to deliver practical training on business skills, financial literacy, and establishing cooperative and linking to the market. This position requires strong facilitation skills, knowledge of business development and cooperative operations, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

  • Deliver business development training to 250 carpet-weaving women covering financial literacy, budgeting, marketing, pricing strategies, and small business management.
  • Conduct cooperative management training for 25 selected cooperative members on governance, membership structures, roles and responsibilities, decision-making, and leadership.
  • Provide practical guidance to beneficiaries on the productive use of UNHCR microgrants for starting and managing carpet weaving businesses.
  • Support cooperative members in developing operational guidelines, SOPs, and financial management practices.
  • Monitor and provide follow-up support to ensure trainees apply acquired skills in managing their businesses and cooperatives.
  • Collaborate with project staff and stakeholders, including UNHCR and ILO, to align training with project objectives.

  • Reporting:

The Business Development and Cooperative Trainer will report directly to the Regional Project Manager in the WASSA office.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Cooperative Management, or related field.
  • Candidate must hold a recognized certification in Business Development, Cooperative Management, or Entrepreneurship from the University/ Institute
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in business development, cooperative training, or livelihood projects.
  • Proven experience in training women and marginalized groups in business or cooperative management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial literacy, budgeting, marketing, and small business operations.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with carpet value chain or artisan-based livelihoods is an advantage.
