The Bank has since opened up its Branches at various key locations such as Mazar Sharif, Hairatan, Nayeb Abad Branch, Kunduz, Takhar, Pule- Khumri, Jalalabad, Herat & Kandahar besides opening another eight branches at Kabul in Sarai Shahzada, Shar-e-Naw, Karte Naw, Kote Sangi, Lase Maryam, Karte Char, Kabul Airport Branch and Wazir Akbar Khan. In due course of time, the Bank intends to expand its Branch Network in Kabul as well as at other key locations of the Country.

Job Descriptions:

Branch Operational Support

  • Provide daily operational guidance and troubleshooting support to all branches.
  • Ensure smooth execution of branch-level processes including cash management, account services, clearing, remittances, customer transactions, and system operations.
  • Ensure branches have required operational tools, forms, manuals, circulars, and updated SOPs.

Operational Control & Compliance

  • Monitor branch adherence to operational policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify gaps, operational risks, and process weaknesses, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Support implementation of audit recommendations and compliance requirements across branches.
  • Ensure proper execution of KYC/AML processes and regulatory reporting.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Review daily operational reports submitted by branches and ensure timely escalation of issues.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly consolidated operational performance reports for senior management.
  • Track branch operational KPIs such as turnaround time, transaction volumes, cash limits, service quality, and error rates.

Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Recommend improvements to existing branch workflows for enhanced efficiency and customer service.
  • Assist in developing and updating SOPs, guidelines, and branch operating manuals.
  • Support implementation of new systems, digital tools, and operational enhancements.

Training and Capacity Building

  • Coordinate with EA Training & Development for capacity-building programs for branch operational staff.
  • Conduct operational training, refresher sessions, and awareness meetings for branch teams when required.

Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of communication between branches and Head Office OPD.
  • Coordinate with departments such as Compliance, Risk, IT, Finance, EA, and Internal Audit on operational matters.
  • Facilitate resolution of inter-departmental operational issues affecting branches.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of banking experience, with at least 3 years in operations or branch/back office operational management.
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience in branch support functions is an advantage.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages (Dari, Pashto).
  • Computer literacy in Words/ Excel/ Power Point Presentation.
