Established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, the Afghan Women's Educational Center (AWEC) is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, nonpolitical, and nongovernmental organization dedicated to advocating for and raising awareness about the rights of women and children in Islam.

Since 2002, AWEC has collaborated with women and communities to enhance access to education, health, and vocational services in Afghanistan. Our initiatives extend to livelihood improvement, protection, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), humanitarian aid, grant management, capacity building, social rehabilitation, cohesion, and justice. AWEC has successfully implemented projects in Logar, Faryab, Kapisa, Khost, Panjshir, Wardak, Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan provinces, maintaining an active presence in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan.

Job Descriptions:

Community Mobilizers are key members of the program implementation team. They are responsible for supervising and supporting Community-Based Education (CBE) teachers to ensure the effective delivery of education services at the community level. Each Community Mobilizer will manage approximately 10 CBE classes within their assigned area.

Responsibilities:

Conduct initial assessment, baseline survey, coordination, and communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Mobilize and engage with the communities to support the establishment of CBE classes and learning progress in their communities.

Support public outreach activities such as Teacher’s capacity building, awareness raising Sessions, community dialogue, TLMs distribution and dissemination of ICE materials.

Establish working relationships with host communities, local stakeholders, partners, government authorities, respond to inquiries, suggestions, comments during official meetings and through official correspondence.

Support Student, Teachers and Classes related data collection at field level and Process documentation at Hub schools and DEDs level.

Ensuring availability of TLMs in classes, in case of material shortages report to the provincial office.

Coordinate with Education departments at the local level to facilitate administrative processes.

Organize coordination meetings among community stakeholders such as parents, local communities, and education department authorities.

Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Social science, administration, or development studies.

A Minimum of 3 years of experience in Education, social work, reporting, organizing training and other educational events

Knowledge and Skills:

Fluent in speaking and writing Pashto and Dari languages.

Computer literate.

Honest, Motivated, tolerant, active, and well mannered.

Strong Interpersonal & communication skills.
