Job Descriptions:

1. Background

The project "Seeds of Rebirth: A Pathway to Livelihood for Afghan Women – Agrifood Empowerment and Economic Growth", led by NOVE, is designed to support female-headed households in rural Afghanistan by improving food security and income generation through small-scale farming and agro-food entrepreneurship. A central pillar of the project is the promotion of women-led food processing activities, providing women in Nangarhar and Laghman with the skills and tools to transform agricultural products into marketable goods.

Job Requirements:

Main Responsibilities of Livestock vaccinator:

  • Administer vaccines to cattle, goats, according to the vaccination schedule.
  • Assist in identification and registration of livestock prior to vaccination.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and cold chain maintenance of vaccines.
  • Restrain animals safely and compassionately during the vaccination process.
  • Record and report data accurately, including number of animals vaccinated, species, location, and any adverse reactions, and direct report to Nove onlus veterinary expert
  • Educate livestock owners on vaccination importance, animal health practices, and disease prevention.
  • Monitor for and report suspected outbreaks or irregular animal health conditions and report to Nove onlus veterinary expert.
  • Participate in refresher training sessions and team coordination meetings.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper hygiene and safety practices during vaccination.
  • Support other veterinary services when required (e.g., treatment, awareness sessions).
