Kabul Royals Logistics & Services Company is a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) holder with the United Nations and provides a wide range of logistics, operational, and implementation services under various UN contracts. The company has extensive experience in managing and supporting field-based projects, including recruitment, training, and supervision of field staff, as well as handling logistics, procurement, and reporting in alignment with UN standards and procedures.

UNICEF is implementing an integrated Child Nutrition and Polio Development program in the urban and semi-urban areas of Nangarhar, Laghman, and Kunar provinces. A key component of this initiative is the deployment of 60 Community Health Workers (CHWs) and a support team of 9 Nutrition/Polio Promoters led by 1 Provincial Supervisor. These promoters will be responsible for community mobilization, active screening, and awareness sessions to enhance the coverage of community-based nutrition interventions (CBNI) and polio eradication activities in high-risk, previously under-served areas.

Job Descriptions:

Overall Objective

To improve the detection and management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), increase community awareness on nutrition and polio, and strengthen the link between the community and health services.

Specific Objectives

  • To conduct community engagement and awareness sessions on nutrition and polio.
  • To support and actively participate in massive MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) screening campaigns.
  • To ensure the smooth implementation of CBNI projects in newly established volunteer sites.
  • To provide supportive supervision, mentorship, and logistical coordination for the deployed Community Health Workers.
  • To facilitate the timely and accurate collection and reporting of project data.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities (For Provincial Supervisor):

  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Provide daily oversight, guidance, and support to the team of 9 Polio/Nutrition Promoters across the assigned provinces.
  • Coordination: Act as the primary field-level liaison between the project vendors, the Community Health Workers, and UNICEF's technical team.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Verify the accuracy of timesheets, activity reports, and payment sheets submitted by the promoters. Compile and submit consolidated monthly progress reports to UNICEF.
  • Logistical Support: Coordinate the secondary dispatch and delivery of nutrition commodities (Iron and Folic Acid - IFA, and Multiple Micronutrient Powders - MNP) to the newly established volunteer sites.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify challenges in the field and propose practical solutions to ensure project activities remain on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all community sessions, screenings, and data collection activities meet the quality standards set by UNICEF.

Job Requirements:

Deliverables (Provincial Supervisor):

  • Monthly consolidated activity reports submitted to UNICEF.
  • Certified and verified timesheets/payroll for all promoters.
  • Reports on the distribution of nutrition commodities (IFA, MNP).
  • Documentation of field monitoring visits and actions taken.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in community-based health or nutrition programming, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in project coordination, team management, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of CMAM (Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and polio eradication initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in local languages (Pashto/Dari) is essential. Basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the Eastern Region.

Reporting Lines:

  • The Provincial Supervisor will report to the designated UNICEF Contract Manager (Dr. Bismillah Enayat) and coordinate with the vendor (Kabul Royals Logistics Services) for administrative and logistical matters.
