About PACTEC:

PACTEC’s mission is to use aviation and information technology to relieve human suffering. Since 1998, PACTEC has been providing urgently needed flight support to the NGO and aid community throughout Afghanistan and particularly in remote areas. PACTEC’s turboprop fleet in Afghanistan currently consists of three Quest Kodiak 100 aircraft and one PC-12 aircraft.

Job Descriptions:

The Check-In Officer is responsible for:

  • Check-in of passengers
    • Being present in the terminal as a Pactec representative at least 1.5 hours before departure time
    • Provide a positive first impression and assist passengers with travel related inquiries
    • Verify and inspect passenger documentation
    • Baggage handling and attaching luggage tags
    • Passengers embarking and disembarking
    • Produce all required, work-related documentation
  • Operational support
    • Coordinate with terminal staff and ground handlers to ensure a smooth operation
    • Being a contact person for the booking office
    • Maintain compliance with safety, security and dangerous goods regulations
  • Customer relations support
    • Have a good knowledge and understanding of PACTEC passenger protocol
    • Draft quarterly program updates for our customers
    • Work on annual program reports
    • Work with customers to resolve disputes between them and PACTEC (involve CD/DOO when appropriate)
    • Conduct user surveys
  • Ground handling support
    • Dealing with ground emergencies
    • Aircraft preparation
    • Marshalling

Be prepared to work on other projects as assigned by Director/Manager or Supervisor

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • 1 year of administrative work experience
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), Fluent in Dari (spoken and written)
  • Ease with oral and writen communication
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel, internet, email

Desired:

  • University degree
  • Aviation related work experience
  • Proficient in Pashto
  • Experience in dealing with government authorities
  • Good autonomy and sense of initiative
