The responsibilities of a system administrator are diverse and cover multiple aspects of an organization’s technology service delivery. Depending on the organization's structure and project scope, this IT professional may be accountable for some or all of the job requirements outlined in this section.
General Skills :
1. Computer Science student/candidate (A+ or top-performing students).
2. Diploma/Bachelor in ICT or Computer Scince.
3. Possessing 2 or 3 years of experience is a strong asset and a plus.
3. Certifications and training in Linux/Unix, Microsoft Windows Servers, Cisco Switches, FortiNet products, Veeam Backup & Restore, VMware, NetFlow Analyzer, OpManager, Xen Orchestra, and XCP-ng are considered a plus point.
4. Quick learner with a strong sense of teamwork and cooperative work ethics.
5. Strong communication skills in local languages and proficient in English, both written and verbal.
Professional or Technical Expertise and Skills:
1. System administrators require comprehensive knowledge of software, hardware, and networking, along with strong practical and theoretical expertise.
2. Conduct research on emerging ICT products, service protocols, and standards to support systems software procurement and development initiatives.
3. System administrators must possess in-depth knowledge of upgrading and managing both hardware (Server/Storage/Switch/Router/Firewall etc.) and software components.
4. Good hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, and implementation of virtualization platforms including VMware vCenter & ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and VATES XCP-ng Hypervisor with Xen Orchestra
5. Experienced in managing and administering Veeam Backup & Restore, including backup plan configuration, integration with various systems, and ensuring data protection best practices.
6. Experienced in working with NOC tools such as ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer and OpManager, including network monitoring, traffic analysis, and performance optimization etc...
7. Knowledge of Red Hat Linux, Unix, and Windows Server involves understanding core operating system concepts, command-line interfaces, and system administration for different platforms.
8. Good knowledge of security enhancements and protocols, including Digital SSL and TLS certificates.
9. Demonstrates strong technical capability and proven experience in effectively managing support cases and tickets in coordination with remote support teams and clients.
10. Demonstrates proactive abilities in providing project support, managing escalations, and generating reports. Possess the ability to document technical procedures and develop user guides as needed to facilitate knowledge sharing.
