HI has been supporting the Afghan people since 1987, starting its operations in Pakistan. Since 1996, HI has been operating across Afghanistan in order to launch victim assistance interventions, working at different levels of the society and adopting a cross-sectoral approach. While present on the ground to directly support victims of the conflict through the provision of a range of services – from physical rehabilitation, to mine risk education and inclusive livelihoods – HI has been continuously advocating to increase the rights of victims and other people with disabilities in the country. In particular, and in line with its global strategy and priorities, HI has been advocating to reduce the use of landmines and conventional weapons. Acknowledging the need to respond to the urgent emergency crises combined with longer term, chronic gaps in the provision of services, HI has steadily expanded its range of activities and services in order to support the most vulnerable people, enhancing their resilience while strengthening participation and inclusion of all individuals.

Job Purpose:

Under the management of Nimroz PM, the cook/cleaner is responsible to prepare food for the staff lunch, and as a cleaner, He is responsible of cleaning and ordering of the office

Responsible to prepare nutritious and hygienic lunch for the staff:

• To purchase of the fresh food for daily cooking
• To cook in parties or training organized by HI when requested
• To serve meal and tea for the guests 
• To preserve left over foods and cooking material
• To equip the fridge always with cold water for drinking
• To clean the refrigerator every day after the lunch time
• To ensure hygienic rules are applied in the daily activities
• To keeping the kitchen, clean before living the office
• To keep all kitchen inventory 
• To wash the dishes and tea cups of the office in the morning
• To cook for the office guests who are staying in the guesthouse if they asked for.

Responsible to Clean Office:

• To clean all rooms, bathrooms yard and any other fixtures.
• To clean the doors and windows of the office
• To clean the tables/chairs of the rooms
• To clean the computers, taking care not to damage any thing
• Cleaning of notice boards maps every week
• Cleaning of cupboards/shelves/files every week
• To empty the trashes every day
• Assisting the guards to keep the office area free from rubbish, clean and tidy,
• To provide office with clean drinking water.
• Clean office equipment as requested.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Primary School Degree (Secondary or High School degree preferred)
• Ability to read and write Dari language,
• At least 2 years of cooking/cleaning experience with other organizations
• Hygienic and cleaning
• Good communication skill
• Team work
• Commitment
