Job Descriptions:

Title of Extender: ECD Master Trainer (Only females)

Specific Tasks/Activities
 

Sign and adhere to standardized Code of Conduct (CoC): sign standardized Code of Conduct (CoC) and adhere to all behavioral standards outlined in the CoC following receipt of orientation to the CoC by the LTA Holder.

Establishment of ECD parenting centers: in close collaboration with Client team as well as ECD officers and facilitators, establish ECD parenting centers in existing and new spaces according to guidelines given and register caregivers and children to these centers.

Development of parenting syllabi, modules and lesson plans: working with other project team members (ECD officers and master trainers) and an international consultant, design and develop a comprehensive and culturally sensitive parenting syllabi, modules and lesson plans focusing on responsive care giving, positive and playful parenting, caregivers mental health, and children early stimulation for enhancing pre-literacy and language skills tailored to the needs and context of caregivers in Afghanistan.

Participation at Training of Trainers (ToT): Participate in training of trainers (ToT) sessions delivered by Client team and the ECD international consultant in Kabul
- Training ECD facilitators: drawing upon learning from the ToT sessions held in Kabul, cascade the ToT topics and themes to ECD facilitators, utilizing interactive techniques and adult learning methodologies to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Program management: provide technical management and supervision support to an average 10 ECD facilitators. Provide technical support to ECD facilitators, share best practices and resources for effective delivery of ECD parenting sessions. Actively contribute to established Communities of Practices (CoPs) to promote knowledge and experience sharing among and between ECD facilitators. Support with all technical aspects of the project. Provide translation support, and contribute to parent program material development.

Monitoring and Evaluation: conduct weekly program visits to ECD parenting classes and provide coaching and mentoring support to ECD facilitators in effective delivery of parenting topics and sessions. Assess the impact of the parenting program, gather feedback, and make necessary adaptations to enhance effectiveness. Submit weekly/monthly reports outlining project progress, achievements, challenges, and recommendations. These reports should be submitted to the Client central Management Information System (e.g., Activity Info). Participate to weekly/monthly meetings to discuss project progress.

Collaboration and Networking: collaborate with other ECD parenting team members (ECD officers and facilitators) and create good working relations with relevant stakeholders, including local authorities, community leaders, and other organizations working in the field of child and family welfare.

Compliance with Environmental and Social Safeguarding (ESS):
- Conduct and document stakeholder engagement activities, including ESS and GRM awareness sessions.
- Engage in ongoing collaboration and communication with the required stakeholders to support ECD program.
- Ensure ECD classes have GRM systems, including GRM logbook, incident logbook designated focal points, and Clients call center posters.
- Record and resolve grievances within the reporting month.
- Ensure that implementation of ESS measures is monitored on regular basis

Reporting: ECD Master Trainer will submit regular monitoring reports including ESS requirements through activity info (the master trainers will receive orientation on how to report through activity info).

Job Requirements:

  • The ECD master trainers must have at least graduated from the 14th grade, with preference given to those with a bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 3 year of relevant experience working with caregivers and very young children.
  • Expertise in adult learning methodologies and facilitation techniques, with the ability to engage and empower diverse groups of caregivers.
  • Deep understanding of the cultural and social context in Afghanistan, with sensitivity to local customs, traditions, and challenges faced by caregivers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with ECD facilitators and caregivers from varying backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation, with the capacity to interpret data and utilize findings for program improvement.
  • Fluency in local languages. Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and early education and gender issues in Afghanistan is an advantage.
  • Previous work experience with Client's Afghanistan ECD and parenting programs is an asset.
