Organization for Sustainable Aid in Afghanistan (OSAA) is a non-governmental, non-profit, women-led organization with no dependence on any political group or party and is a development and humanitarian organization. OSAA was officially registered with the Afghan Ministry of Economy as a national NGO in 2015, aiming to foster the economic and social development of society, in particular women in Afghanistan. OSAA is committed to adopting a sustainable approach to development with long-term positive impacts on society.
The organization’s core founders and board of directors consist of highly educated, experienced, and goal-oriented women and men who endeavor to use their knowledge and experience to empower women and young girls through vocational training, social capacity building, education, employment services, and the development of handicrafts programs in Afghanistan.
Small Business Trainer will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality small business training sessions. This includes designing lesson plans, developing training materials, and conducting practical sessions on different related topics. The Trainer will monitor trainees’ progress, provide individualized support, and promote inclusivity in all training activities. Collaboration with other trainers and coordination with the project manager is essential to ensure consistency and effectiveness in training delivery. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, conducting beneficiary interviews, facilitating field visits, and designing specialized courses based on trainees’ needs. The Trainer will also engage in community awareness programs, document success stories, and ensure compliance with OSAA’s principles of respect, dignity, and non-discrimination. Strong organizational, communication, and counseling skills are required to fulfill these duties effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare lesson plans based on the curriculum developed by the OSAA Training Department.
2. Develop training materials in line with OSAA’s curriculum.
3. Collaborate with other trainers to ensure consistency in training delivery.
4. Conduct training sessions according to lesson plans and other assigned responsibilities.
5. Deliver practical training on ethics, social participation, networking, and business skills.
6. Monitor trainees’ performance and provide necessary support.
7. Promote positive values, ethics, and social participation during training.
8. Ensure inclusiveness and active participation in all training activities.
9. Coordinate training activities with the project manager and relevant staff.
10. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to the project manager.
11. Provide reports on challenges and issues faced during training implementation.
12. Interview beneficiaries to assess their skills and eligibility for future training programs.
13. Facilitate field visits to companies, workshops, and markets for trainees.
14. Provide counseling sessions to trainees on market requirements and employment opportunities.
15. Design special (short-term and long-term) training courses based on the needs of beneficiaries.
16. Develop and update curriculum and training materials for small business and general education.
17. Identify and document successful cases among trainees for reporting purposes.
18. Actively participate in guest speaker programs, market assessments, community dialogues, and awareness-raising sessions.
19. Train beneficiaries in communication, customer relations, and cost calculation methods.
20. Ensure compliance with OSAA’s principles of respect, dignity, and non-discrimination.
21. Perform any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
22. Strictly follow the rules, regulations, and policies of the organization and relevant authorities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Education, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in training, business development, entrepreneurship
• Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Good knowledge of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business development.
• Fluency in local languages and working knowledge of English.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in local languages and English.
• Excellent in Word , Excel and reporting programs.
