Women Activities & Social Service Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 in Afghanistan as a non-governmental organization, committed to seeking ways for women's empowerment in Afghanistan. WASSA aims to promote women's equal participation in socio-economic sectors of the country. WASSA works directly with communities to bring change in the social attitude of the community regarding women.

Position Summary:

The Facilitator will work under the supervision of the Women Protection Supervisor to support the GBV Response initiative in Islam Qala. The role focuses on providing survivor-centered support to vulnerable women and girls—particularly refugee returnees from Iran—through referrals, awareness raising, and distribution of dignity kits. The Facilitator will also ensure close coordination with UNHCR, local authorities, and partners to strengthen protection mechanisms and improve access to essential services.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Under the overall supervision of the Women Protection Supervisor, the facilitator will work on the following tasks to coordinate the implementation of the project in Islam Qala:

• Support the establishment and delivery of structured GBV Referral services at the border.
• Provide timely and appropriate support to survivors through safe, confidential, and respectful approaches.
• Strengthen referral pathways to health, psychosocial, and protection services in coordination with UNHCR and partners.
• Conduct awareness sessions on GBV prevention, protection, and available services.
• Facilitate the distribution of dignity kits to vulnerable women and girls, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Maintain clear records of beneficiaries reached through referrals, Awareness Raising Session, and dignity kit distribution.
• Conduct needs assessments and field visits in collaboration with local authorities and humanitarian actors.
• Support the integration of accountability and feedback mechanisms to ensure services meet the needs of beneficiaries.
• Coordinate with UNHCR, local authorities, and stakeholders to avoid duplication and strengthen protection networks.
• Participate in monitoring and reporting activities, documenting progress and challenges for timely updates.
• Build trustful relationships with beneficiaries while upholding confidentiality and survivor-centered principles.
• Perform any other related tasks as directed by the Project Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• She is responsible for reporting regularly on project activities and updating the progress of project implementation to the Project Supervisor.
• Approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
• Ensure survivor-centered, confidential, and dignified support to all beneficiaries.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, partners, and local stakeholders.
• Focus on impact and results for vulnerable women and girls.
• Demonstrate openness to change, adaptability, and resilience in a complex border setting.
• Provide regular progress reports and contribute to learning and accountability systems.
• Any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Psychology, Law, Social Work, Gender Studies, or other related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in GBV response, case management, or humanitarian protection programs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and sensitivity toward vulnerable populations.
• Experience in conducting awareness sessions and facilitating group discussions.
• Ability to coordinate with partners, local authorities, and humanitarian actors.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; proficiency in English (spoken and written).
