Our initiatives extend to livelihood improvement, protection, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), humanitarian aid, grant management, capacity building, social rehabilitation, cohesion, and justice. AWEC has successfully implemented projects in Logar, Faryab, Kapisa, Khost, Panjshir, Wardak, Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan provinces, maintaining an active presence in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan.

Job Descriptions:

The Project Coordinator for the Just Future Project in Herat Province plays a vital role in fostering sustainable peace by establishing and managing a provincial peace network that bridges project beneficiaries, local authorities, and stakeholders. This position ensures effective coordination, documentation, and facilitation of all project activities at the provincial level while maintaining close collaboration with the Kabul-based team, thereby driving impactful peacebuilding outcomes through strategic communication, meticulous planning, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

Creation of provincial Peace network in respective province.

Coordination between project beneficiaries and provincial peace networks and authorities.

Represent the organization, on request, at workshops and events and meetings at the provincial level.

Conduct all project related activities at the provincial level.

Registration of project at Directorate/ Department of Economy and other direct stakeholders.

Monthly meetings with provincial peace network.

Documentation of project activities, expenses and success stories.

Facilitate and supervise the whole process of data collection in their assigned target areas.

Maintain documentation at their assigned target areas (Six month and annual handover).

Close coordination with Kabul based project team.

Travel to Kabul head office when and if needed.

Any other activity assigned by the project officer and main office.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

A Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Project Management, law and political science and/ or a related field.(Master’s degree holders preferred).

A Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in project management/ Coordination in humanitarian or development settings.prefferably in  peacebuilding implementation projects.

Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with community-based approaches, awareness-raising, and outreach.

Fluent in English and Dari, both written and verbal.

Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong interpersonal, coordination, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability and willingness to travel to field sites and work in challenging environments.

Proven track record in team management, coordination, and budget oversight.

Excellent planning, organizational, and leadership skills.

Familiarity with donor requirements and humanitarian principles.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Ability to work independently and flexibly while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
