The Afghanistan Institute for Civil Society (AICS) is a nationally recognized organization committed to strengthening the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Afghanistan’s development. AICS initially focused on enhancing the institutional effectiveness of NGOs through a certification program based on locally defined and internationally recognized standards. It has also provided capacity-building support and promoted transparency and accountability among NGOs. Furthermore, AICS is actively engaged in capacity-building initiatives and research activities.

Over the time, AICS has expanded its scope to include direct implementation and support of education sector programs, particularly in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Community-Based Education (CBE), and Accelerated Learning Programs (ALP). Additionally, AICS conducts capacity-building programs for NGOs and implements research projects in the education sector to support the development of evidence-based strategies, strengthen education systems, and contribute to more effective and informed decision-making by stakeholders at all levels.

Today, AICS continues to serve as a key platform for strengthening NGO capacity, supporting inclusive and quality education services, and generating knowledge to inform policies and practices across the development sector.

  • To support and implement effective education programs across ECD, CBE, and ALP, aimed at improving access to and the quality of learning for Afghan children and youth.
  • To generate practical, evidence-based research that contributes to improved education policies, planning, and service delivery in Afghanistan.
  • To build the institutional capacity of NGOs through tailored training, technical assistance, and performance-based support.
  • To promote transparency, accountability, and quality standards among NGOs operating in Afghanistan through the application of certification systems and good governance practices.
  • To facilitate coordination and constructive engagement between NGOs, government entities, and development partners for effective and aligned service delivery.

Job Descriptions:

The Female Master Trainer will play a key role in developing and delivering training initiatives across various training topics relevant to the AICS mission and the GPE project mandates. The Master Trainer will closely work with project teams to assess capacity building needs, design tailored programs and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge and skills through regular on-the-job capacity building programs to CBE teachers and the social mobilizers. ms to CBE teachers and the social mobilizers.

  • Identify and assess the capacity building needs of CBE teachers and social mobilizers, analyze, and share the findings with the program team.
  • Undertake capacity building need assessment of CBE teachers, SMS members, social mobilizers, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and conduct training packages for CBE teachers, SMS members, and other stakeholders on various topics related to the CBE project, such as pedagogy, child protection, safeguarding, child rights convention, physical and humiliation punishment, SMS roles and responsibilities, CBE policy, and other required topics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the capacity building initiatives by utilizing SMART indicators, targets, and make necessary adjustments and improvement.
  • Adjust training materials, reference materials, and handouts based on the broad content for the participants.
  • Document and report on the capacity building program activities, achievements, challenges, and recommendations to the relevant manager.
  • Ensure the proper use and distribution of the capacity building program materials, kits, and equipment to the trainees, provide technical support, and problem-solving as needed.
  • Regularly visit the CBE classes whether the capacity building program contents are implemented in the school/class/community environment to measure the impact of the capacity building program delivered.
  • Analyze manuals and handouts, reference materials, identify gaps, and recommend changes or additions.
  • Identify and implement effective and purposeful training methods and tools to promote optimum learning.
  • Ensure adequate preparations prior to the delivery of capacity building program sessions.
  • Coordinate and collaborate the capacity building activities with the PED, DED, Hub schools, and other stakeholders to ensure their participation and support for the trainings if required.
  • Extend support to develop an integrated capacity building program calendar to ensure adherence to training timelines.
  • Ensure sharing pre-capacity building assignments and pre-reading materials in line with the capacity enhancement program schedule.
  • Ensure collaboration within internal functions and teams to exchange knowledge and resources and deliver training effectively.
  • Adhere to the GPE project and AICS’s overall policies and regulations and ensure the compliance of the trainees and trainers with them.
  • Perform any additional duty or task related to the project work assigned by the reporting line.

Job Requirements:

 

  • Fluently speaking and understanding Dari, Pashto and English.
  • The trainers should be residents of Faryab province.
  • The trainers should have preparation to present a title that they experience in it before for 3 minutes during interview process for hiring committee.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working in capacity building of non-formal & formal education projects/programs staff.
  • Willingness to learn and explore new experiences.
  • Ability to use personal initiative and creativity to solve problems. 
  • Having knowledge of the English language
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work in stressful and challenging environments.
