Job Descriptions:

  • Coordination with different stakeholders.
  • Holding awareness session to inform the prospective opportunity to the beneficiaries.
  • Beneficiary selection by Kobo and face to face interview.
  • Evolving training material and providing greenhouse farming skills training.
  • Providing technical information for preparing greenhouse raw materials and toolkit for the beneficiaries.
  • Train farmers, youth, and women’s groups on modern greenhouse farming practices (e.g., drip irrigation, soil management, pest control, nursery, organic fertilizers).
  • Provide technical support on the construction, maintenance, and operation of greenhouse structure.
  • Monitoring and mentoring of greenhouse farming activities.
  • Support the establishment of capacity building for a cooperative for greenhouse BNFs.
  • Conduct market research to understand consumer preferences and high value vegetables in greenhouse farming.
  • Conduct agriculture value chain training for beneficiaries.
  • Provide and support market linkage.
  • Provide field visit to the greenhouse beneficiaries.
  • Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned for reporting and knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements:

  • Have a bachelor degree in agriculture of horticulture field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in agriculture sectors preferably greenhouse farming with national or international NGOs.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse farming practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  •  Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of beneficiaries, including women and men from various backgrounds and be aware of the social norms and culture.
  • Commitment to empowering local communities, fostering their skills, and enhancing their economic self-reliance through greenhouse farming products.
