Job Descriptions:

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct assessments to determine community nutritional needs, food preferences, and food security challenges. 
  • Mobilize community members for planning and sustaining the community kitchen project. 
  • Implement strategies to raise awareness about the community kitchen and its benefits through workshops, meetings, and social media. 
  • Encourage participation from diverse community members, including marginalized groups, in kitchen activities and decision-making. 
  • Work with community leaders, local government officials, and stakeholders to identify beneficiaries and garner support for the project. 
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops focused on nutrition, cooking skills, and food hygiene. 
  • Build relationships with local NGOs, health services, and food suppliers to support the project. 
  • Gather community feedback on kitchen operations and suggestions for improvement. 
  • Prepare reports on events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to track progress and impact. 
  • Foster collaboration among participants through team-building and shared cooking experiences. 
  • Assist community members in identifying and accessing resources for the kitchen’s sustainability. 
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the project’s success and areas for improvement. 
  • Maintain regular updates with the project coordinator on participation, challenges, and achievements. 
  • Support general project goals as assigned by the project coordinator or management. 

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in similar field  
  • Bachelor degree in social science or any other relevant field  
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Excellent spoken and written English, Dari and Pashto languages  
  • Adequate knowledge about the project locations and communities  
  • Knowledge of local contexts  
  • Good working relationship with the local communities 
  • Reporting skills
