SFL opened its office in Afghanistan in the year of 1998, funded by multiple donors such as BPRM, USG, USDA and WFP. SFL has a rich experience and provides assistance in the following areas; Agriculture Development, Food Security, livelihood and emergency, Shelter and Population Settlement, Application of Microcredit, Infrastructure Development and Health and Nutrition.

General Description of Task:

The Vocational Skills Training Marketing focal point is responsible for the overall marketing of products in all 5 VST centers, and administrative activities to ensure the successful completion of the VST program of resilience and food systems project based in Logar province.  The marketing and VST focal point will generally ensure that all aspects of the activity are being implement satisfactorily and in a timely manner so as to complete the project within the timeframe set out in the project work plan and Field Level Agreement (FLA).

Job Descriptions:

  • The marketing and VST focal point will work in the direct supervision of the project manager and senior management team.
  • Conduct regular monitoring, visits all vocational training classes and discussing with trainees on available market with for their product.
  • The marketing officer will work in close coordination with the project manager and is responsible for conducting market analysis for completed products of trainees and linking them to the market accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly progress and monitoring reports based on monitoring visits, per the requirements of donors.
  • Research and collect human interest stories that may further demonstrate project impact and success.
  • Assist the Project Manager in making project outcomes and indicators for project stakeholders’ Vocational Training project proposals.
  • The marketing officer will focus on establishing market linkage for the trainees, leveraging the available resources and materials within the local communities to enhance the skills of each individual as they progress.
  • Participate in all meetings and take minutes of the meeting and share with project team.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Deputy Program Director on issues affecting projects including progress.
  • High attention to detail, effective time management skills, strong work ethic, a willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to be a self-starter.
  • Perform any other tasks id required by the project manager.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 to 6 years experience working with non-profit organizations (NGOs). International NGO experience preferred
  • Proven experience as a marketing officer or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of marketing techniques and principles
  • Good understanding of market research techniques, statistical and data analysis methods
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related social science field preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of computer skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Creativity and commercial awareness.
  • Undertake market research and establish the best way to reach target groups
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, for best marketing products with or within the provinces.
  • Ability to prepare and write project impact and personal stories.  experience Excellent spoken and written English and Dari, with Pashto as an advantage
