Job Descriptions:

The employee reports directly to Chief Operation Officer and assists him with managing overall back office operations.

Static Data, Internal Control, Reconciliation departments and overview of other back office departments (PS, Payroll & TBO Departments) although reporting lines of these departments (PS, Payroll & TBO Departments) are directly to COO.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

1.  Ensuring there is smooth back office operation and enough support for front office teams.

2.  Supervising, Assisting and Evaluating Operation units (Static Data, Payment & Settlement, Reconciliation, Internal Control, Archive

and Treasury Back Office)

3.  Ensuring Satisfactory audit reports for back office Operation departments.

4.  Ensuring operation compliance to all established policies and procedures of the bank specially back office.

5.  Maintaining open line of communication between back office staff and senior management.

6.  Updating procedures and Business Continuity Plans including training of staff for back office operations.

7.  Implementing the change as and when instructed by the management.

8.  Monitoring daily outstanding entries of Nostro accounts and some GL accounts in reconciliations.

9. Being as banks A signatory signing on banks payments especially for clearance of checks and payroll transaction to other banks. 10. Ensure that all controls and security valves are in place and proper procedures are being followed while transfers of funds take place

whether through ACSS, SWIFT or any other mode and ensures that no mistakes take place in such transactions.

11. Actively work with operation units such as Payment and Settlement, Static Data, Internal Control, Treasury Back Office, Archive and

Reconciliation, in order to drive results and deliverables.

12. Manage and supervises recording of static data and customer data.

13. Control and manage archive team members

14. Assist COO to manage and supervises back office operations.

15. Assist COO to maintain and updates back office operations manual in accordance with product and market development, system

changes and regulatory changes

16. Any other task assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:       

  • Bachelor of Business Administration and preferred Master’s Degree.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience on a similar role in Banking sector. 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Fluent in Dari, Pushto and English.
  • Competent Communicator, both written and verbal in above languages.
  • Proficient at using Microsoft office software: MS Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Diplomatic and respectful of ethnic differences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Poses critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Heavy industry experience and professional qualification is a plus.
