Shefajo Medical Center is a Gynecology and Obstetrics center in Kabul, Afghanistan, established in 2016. It is a unique center which is providing healthcare service for women and child of Afghanistan. SMC has partnership with Government and non-government organization like; Ministry of Public Health, USAID, WIE-Promote and many other organizations.
In 2016 SMC started its service in medical laboratory tests and radiography services for people of Afghanistan, in 2018 SMC provide the first service of Gynecology and Obstetrics for patients and fortunately at the end of 2018 provide the first service for child of Afghanistan. SMC is focusing to provide high quality and assured healthcare to mother and child.
Independently conduct a variety of laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, serology, and parasitology, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
The candidates must work independently in the Blood Bank section, demonstrating proficiency in tasks like blood typing, compatibility testing, transfusion preparation, inventory management, storage protocols, and compliance with safety regulations.
Operate and maintain lab automation machines and equipment, Calibrate and perform routine maintenance as needed.
Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and precision of test results, and promptly address any deviations.
Adhere to strict lab safety guidelines and practices, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, to maintain a safe working environment.
Manage the entire testing process, from sample collection to result reporting, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of test results.
Collaborate with medical professionals and interdisciplinary teams to provide insightful interpretation of test results and contribute to patient care decisions.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes, protocols, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Adhere to all national and international guidelines, standards, and regulations governing laboratory practices, safety, and data integrity.
Assist in the teaching and training of junior staff and trainees according to guidelines provided by the department.
Follow safety standards in accordance to the safety manual on a daily basis to provide a safe working environment.
Participate in internal and external quality control surveys.
Monitor quality indicators on a regular basis in the mentioned areas.
Participate in proficiency testing and quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Perform any other related duty to enhance the quality of laboratory services assigned by the Mmanagement.
A minimum bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology or a related field from a recognized university.
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a different section of a medical laboratory.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions based on established protocols.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
Familiarity with national and international laboratory standards and regulations.
Proficiency in a wide range of laboratory tests across different sections.
Expertise in operating and maintaining lab automation machines and equipment.
Comprehensive understanding of laboratory safety protocols and hazardous material handling.
Effective collaboration and communication skills within interdisciplinary teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are needed to effectively collaborate, document procedures, and communicate findings.
Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems and other relevant computer applications.
