Job Descriptions:

(Overall Purpose of the Job):

The Livelihood Expert(s) will be based in Takhar and responsible for Leading and providing technical guidance, supervision, and support to all aspects of livelihoods in Takhar. He will Identify and establish collaborative relationships with NGOs, private sector, and relevant governmental agencies to broaden livelihood opportunities for project beneficiaries.

(MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS):

  • Lead and provide technical guidance, supervision, and support to all aspects of livelihoods on the project.
  • Collect the training materials, arrange a reasonable training facility, and coordinate the participants into appropriate vocational centers.
  • Ensure that project activities are properly coordinated with stakeholders and stakeholders are consulted during the project implementation.
  • Supervise all skill training courses in the province, to ensure that the trainers conduct training based on agreed manual and quality.
  • Provide productive feedback to the vocational trainers that leads to the improvement of vocational trainings.
  • Work closely with Project Manager to refine the capacity enhancement material according to need of the province as well as impart and/or organize required trainings/skills.
  • Manage overall operations and performance of livelihoods teams with a specific focus on compliant processes for effective livelihood support.
  • Development and implementation of livelihoods assessment tools and approaches.
  • Provide capacity building and training to other relevant staff.
  • Identify and establish collaborative relationships with NGOs, private sector, and relevant governmental agencies to broaden livelihood opportunities for project beneficiaries.
  • Conducting the Market Mapping for developing the potential livelihood opportunity for the beneficiaries
  • Provide assistance with the implementation of suggested plans and strategies for business development.
  • Educate and supervise members of the business development team to ensure the project’s achievements.
  • Once the vocational trainings are completed, closely monitor the beneficiaries utilizing the provided equipment and address any pertaining issue in close collaboration with RDP Manager.
  • Participate actively in strategy discussion/meetings on vocational trainings and provide the required technical feedback.
  • Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the RPM/PM.

(MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES):

  • Provision of regular and effective reporting to the Regional Programme Manager/Project Manager
  • Preparation of monthly quarterly and annual project reports as required.
  • Ensuring appropriate department resources to deliver project commitments.
  • Design and delivery of presentations and documentation as required.
  • Communications with stakeholders including donors and partner agencies.

Job Requirements:

(SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

Education: bachelor’s degree from recognised university/ institutes in business administration, enterprise development, food science, agriculture, agriculture economics, agribusiness, or any other relevant fields. Master’s degree will be preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience with 3 years in livelihood development and implementation.
  • Field-based experience working in Afghanistan.

Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent practical knowledge of supply chain development.
  • Strong knowledge of financial mechanisms available for financing Enterprise Development in Afghanistan.

Other Skills:

  • Efficient and effective communication skills.
  • Good problem solving, planning, and organization skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Leadership, problem solving, negotiation and co-ordination skills.
  • Highly proficient in documentation and project reporting
  • Strong oral and written reporting, documentation, and presentation skills
