Job Description
Regional Coordinator will work under the direction of the Leadership (Executive Director/Deputy Director and Program Manager) to facilitate the setting up of each regional office in accordance with the office procedures of the main Nangarhar office. The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for the operational aspects of setting up the regional offices, in terms of location premises and equipping the office with all necessary office equipment. The coordinator will be the focal point for the regional offices contact with the main office. Regional Coordinators will be responsible not limited to below tasks:
- Coordination with local AWUDO staff, volunteers, partner organizations, donor’s regional team, line authorities and other engaged stakeholders to ensure smooth program delivery.
- Oversee the implementation of AWUDO's programs and initiatives within the assigned region.
- Monitor program activities, track progress, and identify any challenges or bottlenecks.
- Provide regular updates and reports to AWUDO's main office on the status of regional operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders, vulnerable groups, and other stakeholders.
- Organize community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns to engage the target beneficiaries.
- Gather feedback from the community and relay it back to AWUDO's management for program improvement.
- Identify and collaborate with local partners, such as NGOs, government agencies, or community-based organizations, to leverage resources and expand AWUDO's reach.
- Assess the training and capacity-building needs of AWUDO's regional staff and volunteers.
- Provide mentoring and support to regional staff to enhance their skills and professional development.
- Ensure that AWUDO's regional teams are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively implement programs.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track the progress and impact of AWUDO's regional initiatives.
- Collect and analyze data from the field, including beneficiary feedback, to inform decision-making and program adjustments.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on the regional activities, challenges, and lessons learned for AWUDO's management.
- Collaborate with the central M&E team to ensure consistent data collection and reporting across the regions.
- Represent AWUDO in regional forums, meetings, and collaborations with local authorities, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Amplify the voices and concerns of the communities AWUDO serves to inform AWUDO's advocacy efforts at the national level.
- Collaborate with regional partners to collectively address the challenges and barriers faced by women and girls in the region.
- Ensure proper documentation of all activities
- Perform other task and duties as request by top management
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, development studies, or public administration, or Master's degree/advanced training in project management, community development, or gender studies would be an advantage.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in program management, community engagement, or project coordination, preferably in the humanitarian sector or with a women's empowerment organization.
- Familiarity with the socio-cultural dynamics, gender norms, and development challenges in Afghanistan.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and partner organizations.
- Proficient in project planning, implementation, and monitoring, with the ability to develop and track key performance indicators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges in program implementation.
- Demonstrated skills in designing and delivering effective capacity-building and training programs for regional staff and volunteers.
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills to represent AWUDO's interests and concerns at the regional level.
- Understanding of local, national, and international policy frameworks related to women's rights and gender equality.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in Dari and Pashto, Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of the cultural norms, gender dynamics, and social structures in Afghanistan.
