Job Descriptions:

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Resources Management and the direct supervision of the Suply Chain Officer, in coordination with relevant units and other relevant staff and departments, the Incumbent will assist in Quality Control processes and activities for the Non-Food Items (NFI).

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Registers samples received against bids for technical evaluation. Assist in the sample evaluation and inspection arrangements.
  • In coordination with Supply Chain Officer and Head of RM, create and maintain standard quality checklist for the NFI Supply Chain process including control on raw materials, during the production, transportation, and storage of Non-Food Items (NFls).
  • Identify quality control gaps and propose ways for their permanent solution in consultation with the Head of Supply Chain unit.
  • Conduct post-delivery inspection for Non-Food Items for various programs and project stocks delivered into the IOM Warehouse ensuring verifying that the quality of the goods and packaging is in line with the required specifications.
  • Prepare Draft Quality Inspection reports to be submitted to Kabul QA/QC for review and update internal system reporting.
  • Maintain the test records and reports. These reports to include – weekly and monthly reporting (instrumentation and control devices, KPI on Quality, rejected shipment, corrective action plans and reports on bid sample evaluation work).
  • Keep the relevant units such as Warehouse, Procurement and Logistics informed about the status of rejected goods and consignments that require follow up or replacement or requires penalty application.
  • Maintain a detailed inventory and control for reference and QC sample items received to facilitate the traceability and assist in disposing them after expiration of contracts / Long Term Agreements.
  • In coordination with Supply Chain Officer and other relevant colleagues, contribute to the development and updating of operating procedures and other necessary guidance material related to Quality Management.
  • Contribute to the maintenance ain and upkeeping of the IOM Quality Control Centre.
  • Assist in laboratory testing where required.
  • Perform any other duty relevant for the functions associated with this post.

Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience

or

High school/College diploma in the above fields of studies with Five years of relevant professional experience.

 

Experience

  • Experience in creation and maintaining standard quality checklist for the NFI Supply Chain process.
  • Experience in Identifying quality control gaps and propose ways for their permanent solution.
  • Experience in registering samples received against bids for technical evaluation.
  • Experience in Preparation and drafting Quality Inspection reports.
  • Experience in development and updating of operating procedures and other necessary guidance material related to Quality Management.
  • Experience in managing diverse quality control issues.
  • Experience in increasing staff knowledge and their capacity on the quality control importance.
