Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review all necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to expedite the customs clearance process and minimize delays
  • Liaise with customs officials and government agencies to facilitate the clearance of shipments through customs checkpoints
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and other relevant parties to ensure timely submission of required documentation and payment of duties and taxes
  • Stay updated on changes to customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advise clients on import/export requirements, and potential risks associated with customs clearance
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding customs clearance matters, providing timely updates and resolving any issues or concerns
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customs officials, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient customs clearance processes
  • Identify and resolve customs-related issues or discrepancies, such as missing documentation incorrect classification, or customs holds, on time
  • Work proactively to anticipate potential challenges and develop solutions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to shipments
  • Perform any other activities as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, international trade, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: 2 years of working experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Languages: Proficiency in both national languages and English language is an advantage
  • Previous experience in customs clearance, logistics, or international trade
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications such as customs clearance systems and MS Office
  • Self-motivated, Quick learner with a positive attitude.
  • Cooperative and team-working skills
  • Being flexible regarding working hours.
  • Disciplined, honest, professional, and hard worker.
